Ok. Cool. Don't have to take the penalty for leaving then!
Man, you sure showed us tanks! Now we have to get back into a dungeon in under 30 seconds and complete it before your group can even find my replacement.
Wow, some of you have some real power-abuse problems. Just because we're tanks doesn't give us the right to act like jerks.
So what if a DPS pulls more? Do your friggin job as tank and pick them up. If the DPS pulled too many, then everyone will die sure, and the DPS with either have learned their lesson or left because they are too impatient. Either way it's a win-win for the tank (DPS are a dime-a-dozen to replace). But it's no more wasted time than having to wait to res the dead DPS (and possibly healer and other DPS if they helped) that pulled.
Is it slightly annoying? Sure, it can be. But you letting them die and having the attitude of "Me big leader, me Tank. You dumb DPS" is just as annoying if not moreso. And it gives the rest of us a bad name and makes us appear like arrogant pricks.
Suck it up, sunshine.
I love this particular statement because it's used as an end-all to this particular argument, yet can easily be applied to the attitude DPS take when approaching a dungeon.
Tank pulling too slow? Suck it up, sunshine.
When I DPS and someone's being a sloth, I just see it as more Netflix time. Is anyone playing this game doing low level dungeons actually, like, 100% into the thing? Sounds like a real fucking drag, man. It's no wonder you get your panties twisted up in a knot like this.
Yeah, it applies both ways. Never said it didn't.I love this particular statement because it's used as an end-all to this particular argument, yet can easily be applied to the attitude DPS take when approaching a dungeon.

The point is, don't go whining about it and acting like a jerk, no matter which side you are on. Suck it up, sunshine. ^_^
Nevermind.

Learn to be a dick O.P. Learn to be a Dick. Look for the hidden gem of dickishness that hides in the heart of all humans who've been screwed over one time too many by jerk ass randoms who can't see you as a human being because they take playing a stupid video game too seriously. BRING THESE FIENDS TO JUSTICE.
A dps player ignores you and pulls adds. Let him. Screw him, he's nobody, some random ass you'll never meet again. Let him die. Oh he didn't die? So? He'll still whine about you not doing the job he's not letting you do. Imagine a toilet with a bidet that shoots streams of acid; now imagine him sitting on it. Do this while you're taking a break and using a macro that spams the word APPLES over and over again so he can't even read his own guild chat.
They can't win. If you put your mind to it, is impossible for them to beat you. A tank with a mind towards making the party suffer is the most implacable enemy in all of MMO-dom.
WIPE THE GROUP. DO IT. It's not hard, especially at lower levels. You'll know when you're in a group that has to be wiped. It isn't hard to round up a big pile of trash and use dash to drag them over to the healer. Even if they win, they'll still be pissed off. Especially if you keep macro spamming the word APPLES into chat. SCREW THEM. They can't even insult you properly if you macro spam their sentences out of chat.
If they quit, you win. If they vote kick you, you win. If they keep trying to insult you while you macro spam, you win. If they decide to wait out the timer with you, you win.
APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES APPLES
Evil must be repaid a thousandfold.*
*(Actually, don't do any of that stuff. Too much work. Just drop the group.)

That is easily the best form of sarcasm I have ever read in my life.
Welcome to being a tank.
Yes its common. One of many reasons we get insta queues.
Aren't those mutually exclusive? Can you really do both? The OP's whining about DPS pulling faster than (s)he can. I personally don't have this problem. If I did, I'd probably just be a dick about it.
See? It looks like it's either or. Scientifically proven.
I wouldn't tell my friends I'm being a dick because some meanie queued for a dungeon right before they had to go pick up their kid and now feel compelled to finish it in under five minutes, causing wipes and making it take even longer. I certainly wouldn't post about it. I'd likely just act like a jerk. Provided, once more, that I'm not too busy finishing a season of Supernatural, because man, those Winchesters sure get up to some trouble. And that show's definitely a lot more interesting than whatever I'm apparently missing in the super serious world of low level dungeon delving.
Wish I'd been able to follow this thread thoroughly.
In any case, I haven't had this issue much since I started as a GLA in sept '13, but I've heard about it a lot. First thing, if DPS pulls then DPS dies, it's not a power thing it's a "let me play the effin' game" thing. There is a massive learning curve for new tanks. GLAs build stupidly low aggro in the first couple dungeons. Getting into Tam Tara before hitting 26 can be rough and I've seen several gladiators almost quit at that point, one of which became our solo tank for my T9 static--one who did such a good job that my static got annoyed whenever we ran with another tank. So maybe instead of destroying the game for someone, you can wait 3 seconds while someone learns. Have a problem with new tanks? Gtfo of DF which, via MSQ, encourages newbies to use it.
On the flip side I do get annoyed if a tank is being brutally slow because its inconsiderate. Stopping and standing around before every pull is rude and uncalled for. You're the tank not the party leader, you should be trying to keep the dungeon moving, and while I still don't condone pulling before the tank, if you want people to respect you and let you do your job, then you need to be respectful of their time and be doing your job, not standing around without explaining yourself.
