While I do agree with you in everything you just said, DPS also need to learn to respect the tank and allow them to pull rather than being the DPTank. But as for what the OP is talking about, I've only really ran into this a few times, because while I do tell people "Hey I'm new to tanking this dungeon" even if i've done the dungeon before on another class, they usually respect that, and allow me to pull. I may mess up here and there but once I learn the dungeon it's a good day. The only time I've really ran into this was yesterday with a Monk who kept going ahead of me, but not by much so it wasn't a big issue. He knew I'd be able to rip agro off him nearly instantly so I was fine with it. Usually if a DPS or healer pulls before I do, it's 95% ofthe time because they know at the end of that moment, every shred of agro they have is mine.

And I'll even admit, it saddens me to know all these bad experiences forced you to drop tanking :/. People wonder why there arn't good tanks or not enough tanks, this is a piece of why. But I bid you fun times, and plenty of joy in any other experiences you have ^^ be it tanking or anything else.
