The cool thing for me is that the healer I run with is in my guild. When A DPS acts blatantly retarded, I just tell her not to heal them. You would be surprised how quickly it fixes the issue.

Either the DPS gets mad and leaves and we replace them, or they behave.

I can definitely relate to the feeling you've been describing. When you choose a role, you naturally have certain expectations for that role. In the case of a tank, having a dps going out pulling and such, betrays that expectation and to an extent, can cause someone to feel that that dps is undermining your importance in the group.

The mindset I adapted is to force myself to remember that clearing the dungeon is more important than maintaining my idea of a preconceived role. If a player has caused me strife the entire run, but we clear it then at least I can say "Dear god it's finally over." and get on with the rest of my game life, and probably never encounter that particular player again. DF is a crapshoot. You'll get anyone from a NIN bully in b.i.s, to a sheepish THM who hasn't quite figured out how transpose works yet. You just have to roll with it, do what you can, and keep improving.

As an aside, as others have iterated, things change drastically at lvl 50 dungeons. Be prepared for that as best you can, grab soldiery gear and WOD tank gear [gods willing] with your max lvl class, and really watch how other tanks perform during your EXP. Roulette.
Best of luck, we need more tanks in eorzea.

If it bothers you, force d/c by closing the client. Go grab a snack or drink. Come back back in 5 minutes and relog in. If they gotta go fast, they will kick your offline character, then que up without penalty. If they don't kick, rinse and repeat.

Actually, if you read my post, I target the tanks target. If that tank is using aoe aggro, I will aoe. If they are marking single targets, I do not. My point was that as a war I do not mark as I aoe and expect the dps to do the same.

I didn't mean to be offensive, just to give an example how it usually goes in dungeons with high AoE potency DPS, not many BLMs would settle to use single target spells, and if they do, they most likely don't approve of it.

Well, it seems many Tanks will then enjoy playing DRK, so they can tell the DPS "shut it or I'll sacrifice you >:|!" Since they have a skill for that.

I'm pretty sure the skill doesn't straight up kill a player, but rather grants you health and MP -if- the party member with the buff dies.

Marking is really only good for denoting what to attack so that it can die faster so the healer doesn't have to worry about healing you as much and they can dps more. Expect there to be a bunch of a-hole players along your path as well as good ones that will stop and try to help you. Also personally if you really have a desire to pull. Can stun the target when it's near dead and move onto the next set and have it pulled as the last mob is dying. It's what I normally do at low level dungeons. Saves about 3-5 minutes. Just make sure your healer can keep up.
