I'd be ok with it, since there is so many wing haters out there. I'm more interested in the added value free flying can bring.

What about wing glamours on gear? That would be okay...maybe? We already have butt wings (ugh) the coil gear lol and the smn af2 has wings too

No. We don't need anything that obnoxious.

There are already plenty of games out there with stupidly huge and stupidly useless flashy stuff. You might think "Oh, my character would be PERFECT with this s**t on!", too bad that EVERY SINGLE OTHER PLAYER will think the same, and suddenly every marketboard is clouded by a murder of derpy and oversized wings that serve no purpose at all.

Keep the game clean and tidy, please. Japan is not China or Korea. They like minimalism, not useless flamboyance.

The wings on the SMN AF sets (their AF1 had wings as well) are something of a SMN motif. The AF1 set was based on Bahamut with the gold filigree representing his allagan bindings, whilst the AF2 set is clearly themed on Bismark since both the new horn and wings are stylistically very similar to his (that new SMN weapon shown in the AF2 video was most likely their Bismark weapon as well since it shared the same theme).

The OP is asking for actual functional wings to fly with which would honestly make no sense. Why would players suddenly sprout wings? Like I said earlier we already have flying mounts which give the same functionality so there would be no need for wings in the sense that the OP wants. There's nothing wrong with cosmetic wings in the situations that we already have them because they make sense (all equipment with wings so far was specifically themed on a winged creature) just as long as the devs don't go crazy with it.

SE tends to be very understated with a lot of their armour designs anyway. They make things intricate and interesting without being over the top. Aion being a Korean MMO is kind of the complete opposite.

Magitek-Jetpacks? Sure, bring them on :P

Yeah, it wouldn't make sense. It fits in Aion because the lore in that game is designed around the fractions and the wings and such. To add full scale wings now would be weird, I am happy to stick with the flying mounts...and am content with the little wings I'll get on my AF2..haha. If I want wings I will go play Aion or Tera. >.>
