Not really interested in wings, sorry.

As various others have stated it just doesn't seem like it would fit the theme of the game, I am however all for spells like levitate etc if they want to go with that route or even a magitek glider designed by the ironworks or something, those are examples of things i could see working and would happily get behind.

Non-functional wings on a new race, sure that's fine... But functional ones or ones to add to current races for aesthetic reasons... That'd be a nightmare. First off, the pictures posted in the OP are disastrous clutter. You would kill your team mates having those out as they would block people's view of Telegraphs. No longer did you not dodge Weights because of lag, but because you couldn't see them because the winged Miqo'te blocked everyone's view. Being able to fly on personal characters would also break fights like Titan or Leviathan as they would mitigate falling threats. The other problem is it would either detract from new attractions like flying mounts and personal airships as it would be a close enough speed to not need to use them, or it would have to be slower, thus mitigating the need for it altogether. I mean, I would LOVE to fly around like Goku on my Monk... but... then why would I need a flying mount? Also that would suggest I could fly at will, which eliminates any world threat of aggro since I can't get gravitied off of a mount

As has been said, the ones on gear or on a new race would be fine, but fully spread ones like those Aion ones are too big, they clutter the screen, and they look tacky. I understand wanting to have something like wings. That's fine. Your efforts are better spent asking for more pieces of gear with wings attached, as you're less likely to find resistance from the community.

Why don't people read? Wings wouldn't be shown all the time, only while flying. Make them just like any flying mount - summoned out of thin air when you need to fly somewhere, entirely hidden when you don't need them.

They are still tacky as shit. I associated wings too much to F2P games no matter how much you're going to try to fit it into the lore.

Don't really care for wings one way or another. I personally would like an aura like effect of the legacy mark to serve as "wings" with which to fly with.

Every game that has them looks tacky like hell and cover up 90% of the screen. I remember them in Mu Online and town centers were just a mess of red and blue wings. Let's not forget they make no sense in both the lore of the game, and it's general aesthetic. We aren't gods or w.e.

I mean... where do you people think lore comes from? it's written, on the fly... by writers... lore is not a set of rules written 3000 years ago that tell you what you can put in the game, you are aware that tomorrow they could announce final fantasy wings a final fantasy about wings and it would still be final fantasy and franchise lore right? They can literally write ANYTHING to implement wings and it would be lore.

Yes, they could write anything, and writing "anything" would break the established lore and be poor writing. Also "not the center of the universe" wut? What does that even have to do with someones opinion that wings appear in F2P games (which they do very often)? I have played Mu Online and that was definitly the case with all the giant glowing wings everywhere. It became visual clutter.
