Bring on Personal Wings! [Beyond Heavensward Thread]

With Heavensward bringing new zones that you can use flying mounts, it would be great if players were to be given even more freedom of movement thro the addition of their own personal wings!

Just think of all the possibilities personal wings could bring: DoL sky gathering points, flying in new zones, glide from high places in old zones, maybe even entire dungeons that flying is part of the mechanics! If SE adds them as an additional slot (or some how use the Soul Crystal Slot), stats could be added to the Wings as well as glamors.

I was thinking it might be fitting as a final reward from Heavensward, like an Au Ra coming of age spell that grants a pair of wings(since in final fantasy dragons tend to have wings..) that just happens to work on other races.
Why won't I be happy with just a flying mount? Can't gather/fight/go into dungeons on a mount, I'm just thinking potential added content. Also wings shouldn't be visible unless your flying or use /wing emote.

To get an idea of what it would look like take a look at Aion's wings:And just to be clear these are just example pictures, I would expect SE's wings to be smaller/different






But beyond personal wings and Heavensward, what ideas would you like to see fleshed out or added to FFXIV?

It would be pretty cool if they weren't too obnoxious.

For a temporary goal, I'd like the wings you get from the Eternal Bond to be repeatedly purchasable, instead of limited to 99 per character.

I personally hate wings on characters in MMO.

I dislike wings in the mmos that I've seen them in which includes aion, it feels a little obnoxious to see them and the flying/landing animations always come off a little...funny looking. Not a good kind of funny either, but rather just.. out-right weird. :x

I don't know what you all are complaining about, wings would be awesome. Reminds me of the people that didn't want jumping added to FFXIV either....

In the FF franchise "Personal wings" have always been attached to characters of very high power / status. That is, bosses, transcended humans, etc.

Giving wings to the latest Joe McNub would severely diminish their value.

Make it a only one item per server on first kill thing and it will be ok.

Well golly gee it's a good thing we are all the warriors of light then heh? Considering you can only do the Heavensward content after you cleared all the main quest scenarios prior, I actually do NOT see the problem. The Warrior of Light is a prime candidate for wings.
