Anyone know a good rotation? I realize there's going to be the occasional failure but I'm blowing up mats left and right trying to make these
Anyone know a good rotation? I realize there's going to be the occasional failure but I'm blowing up mats left and right trying to make these
Check a recent thread i made about masterbook 2, a lot of ppl suggested stuff and its worth a look.
Used to blow up a bunch with no hq success, but managed to hq 2 of the wvr turn ins from using rumination + reclaim as a fail safe so i can go all the way to the end and see if i baited a good/ excellent on BB.
I can't give you a full rotation (Rotations are worthless once you get to the 3-star and 4-star levels), but I can tell you how I craft this:
BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Craft or buy 1x Bouillabaise and drink it. The extra CP is insanely helpful!
I usually split crafting these items into three phases: Progress Phase, Quality Phase, and BB Phase.
I start with Comfort Zone, Inner Quiet, than Steady Hand II. After that, Piece by Piece twice, a single Rapid Synthesis until successful (refreshing Steady Hand II when needed), and Careful Synthesis II. If your Craftsmanship score is good, this should be plenty to ensure that your progress is a single Careful Synthesis II away from completion. Then, keep Steady Hand II up and use Hasty Touch until you reach 20 Durability, then take note of the condition of the craft. If the condition is Normal or Poor, use Master's Mend II. If it's Good, use Tricks of the Trade. If it's Excellent, use another Hasty Touch. Either way, your Durability will go down to 10 and you will HAVE to use Master's Mend II immediately after.
Two things to note about this:
1.) Always. Use. Tricks of the Trade. Whenever. It. Procs. This is very important.
2.) If Comfort Zone wears off the first time, refresh it only once before Master's Mend II. The only time this rule should be ignored is if it wears off a second time during this opening rotation (which is highly unlikely, but not impossible) and your CP is over 300. Then you can use it again.
=======
Once you hit Master's Mend II, it's onto the Quality Phase.
This phase is going to require a careful monitoring of your CP. Unless you know what you're doing, NEVER let your CP dip below 100 during this phase. And, as always, Tricks of the Trade is your best friend and you should activate it every single time it procs without exception.
However, another thing to note. If your CP is over 220 at any point during the Quality Phase, activate Comfort Zone if it's not active. You always want to activate Comfort Zone a minimum of twice during this craft, but if you're unlucky with Tricks of the Trade procs, you may not necessarily be able to. I've been able to get lucky and activate Comfort Zone a whopping three times in a single craft without using up too much CP, so that's possible.
Now, before you start, if you have remaining Steady Hand II stacks, carefully burn them off with a series of Hasty Touches. Once they're gone, check your CP. If your CP is over, say... 150, re-apply Steady Hand II and activate Waste Not. Doing this will give you four (3 if you had to Tricks of the Trade in-between the two buffs) steps to improve quality with Hasty Touch. No matter what, always always always Tricks of the Trade on a Good Condition.
If your CP is under 150, only activate Steady Hand II, then use Tricks of the Trade (as necessary) and Hasty Touch until you reach 15-20 Durability. You should have around 100 CP for the final stage.
===================
For Byregot's Blessing stage, you will be baiting for a condition change. First and foremost, IF you have Steady Hand II at 3 stacks or more during this phase, you're golden. If not, re-apply it. Remember to use Tricks of the Trade if you get a Good Condition, but that should be the last time during the craft that you use Tricks of the Trade.
Next, activate Great Strides. This will give you a really good boost to Control. If you get a Good Condition here, use Byregot's Blessing to drive the Quality home. If you get an Excellent, pre-emptive congratulations on your HQ item as you Byregot's Blessing. After Byregot's Blessing, use Careful Synthesis II to finish the craft.
IF YOU GET NORMAL CONDITION, CONTINUE ON:
IF you have 42 or more CP, activate Innovation. If you get a Good/Excellent here, Byregot's Blessing, if not, continue on.
If by this point you still have more than 42 CP, activate Innovation again. The reason for this is to try to change the condition to Good while keeping, at minimum, Great Strides and either Innovation or Steady Hand II active.
IF you get unlucky and you have less than 42 CP, just hit Byregot's Blessing followed by Careful Synthesis II and that should finish the craft.
===============
Now this is how I craft things and my stats may be way different than yours. If this strat works for you, then absolutely keep it going! Otherwise, I recommend modifying this strat or creating your own through the crafting simulator at http://www.ffxivcrafter.com/
Happy crafting!
