2.5, so not exactly that old.I find it kinda funny Ultima HM was almost exactly like this quite a while back. The clear rate for that one is better now that people outgear it more, but it still isn't in a roulette either and doesn't have any significant enough drops that people want to do it more than once. I don't think giving Urth's Fount the 5% increment echo would be unreasonable (how old is it now? was that 2.4 or 2.5?), but if you do as several people have suggested and bring 5 dps, it's a lot easier.
By the time 3.0 drops everything we have now will be irrelevant so i guess it will be nerfed at some point so people can experience it. It's like the EX Primals that can all be steamrolled by gear carry now one day Odin will be the same. It's not a particularly hard fight it's down to your Healers and DPS if people die because of poor Healers or because they keep derping into Odin's simple to dodge attacks with a bleed debuff on them then you will fail the DPS check. If he's not sub 20% when he starts charging his ultimate you are going to wipe. I did it in DF the first day of release we had a really good group and beat it second try. First try me and the other Healer were taken by surprise a bit at how relentless the fight is on us but the second try we were prepared for it and he was about 12% when he casted his ultimate.
i don't think it needs a nerf as such maybe just a higher ilvl requirement on it so for ppl who don't have there rotation and have amazing dps for there ilvl 90 gear can still give it a red hot go with better gear atleast.. and i see this often when he does is main aoe don't run 60 miles out side of the red circle just to the edge then back in keeps more uptime on him
That's the same for all bosses really. A lot of people run a marathon dodging an AoE you only need to be outside it.i don't think it needs a nerf as such maybe just a higher ilvl requirement on it so for ppl who don't have there rotation and have amazing dps for there ilvl 90 gear can still give it a red hot go with better gear atleast.. and i see this often when he does is main aoe don't run 60 miles out side of the red circle just to the edge then back in keeps more uptime on him

I've noticed a lot of people will also just stand there and wait for an attack animation to go off before running back in when you don't need to do that at all. As soon as the red indicator disappears, it's safe to go in.
I'm at 19 wipes right now... I don't think I'll ever clear it if people don't improve. This is a fight where you can't carry people and it shows.
I actually have a rage-quitter to thank for clearing this... no really... DF'ed it when it first came out, and after a couple of wipes a DRG died and left mid fight. If he'd been raised he'd have had weakness, but instead he got replaced with a new DRG with no weakness to finish the fight. We killed him just as the Zantetsuken timer went off so prob wouldn't have done it if the player had accepted a revive and kept going.

I don't think Urth's Fount needs a nerf. Yes, it's hard as hell- and I love that. But why?
Because you don't need to run or complete Urth's Fount at any point. It's not part of the main story, it's only available at 50, it's gear drops are only for glamour purposes, and the only reward for clearing it is an achievement. Urth's Fount is 100% optional to progression in every way. So let it be difficult- doesn't that make the gear it drops all the much sweeter when you finally get a piece?
That quest in my log annoys me and I want to clear everything that isn't coil once before hw.I don't think Urth's Fount needs a nerf. Yes, it's hard as hell- and I love that. But why?
