Main Story Quest - Better Late Than Never Stuck/Bug

I am on "Better Late Than Never" Main Story Quest and I cannot proceed. My journal tells me to go trade Cid (in New Gridania at the airship) the "Corrupted Crystal" key item and when I went to trade him, I found out it wasn't even in my inventory so this quest is bugged. Also, I strongly suggest that you add the "Abandon" button from general quests to the Main Story Quests in case this kind of thing happens. I've been stuck and unable to do anything for an entire day (24 hours ago is exactly when it happened) now and it's very frustrating because repeating the quest may have solved the issue, but I have no way of knowing. Please help me ASAP! Thanks.

Steps:
1. Talk to NPC in Old Gridania (Hedyn x8 y8) to begin Main Story Quest "Better Late Than Never".
2. Quest updates to "Deliver Corrupted Crystal to Cid" and indicates that it's able to be completed with Green Check Mark even though I got no "Corrupted Crystal" key item from Hedyn.
3. Talk to NPC in New Gridania (Cid x11 y13) and attempt turn-in - Fails since no "Corrupted Crystal" in inventory or key items to trade.
