Heavensward Pre-order code entry error

Hey guys,

I have been trying to enter in the code I had received when I preordered Heavensward, but every time I try this is pops up with "The entered code is invalid."

Is anyone else having this issue?
I currently play FFXIV through Steam, but am thinking I may need to buy the game outside of Steam for this code to work?

Two tips that may be useful :

1) If you purchase the original game on steam, you need to purchase the expansion on steam as well.
2) When you enter the preorder code make sure you're typing it in CAPS.

Yes, if you bought your original FFXIV via Steam, you have to buy Heavensward from Steam as well.

You should contact your retailer for a refund/order cancellation.
If you purchased from the European Union (EU) SE Webstore, use this URL and mention the problem with Steam. They were very polite and cancelled my pre-order without problems after two working days: https://store.eu.square-enix.com/eme...est-refund.php

I'm having the same issue, I got the game on steam but ordered the CE from a retailer.

I was going to upgrade to the collectors base game, so I might see if that fixes the issue. >3<'

Does this mean having a steam version of the main game will invalidate the physical copy of the expansion as well?
