Hmm, I don't know if Hydaelyn pseudo medieval though, more so on the verge of an industrial revolution considering the sort of tech Ishgard and Garlemald have and that Cid and some parts of Ul'dah are introducing, Eorzea is just lagging behind due to the power of magic and a resistance to new ways of life. Either way though, Alphinaud and Alisaie are nobles and probably have been groomed from birth in the fields of politics, though Alisaie isn't as much of a fan as Alphinaud is, so it's not very surprising that people do listen to him when he speaks considering his upbringing.
Im, already working on getting the exact quote from minfilia. It is not in any of the cut scenes I've already checked and so far it is looking like it was said just after she gets to revenants toll. I just need to get my character past the whole follow white clad douche bag. Lol just need a bit better gear and I should be golden.

A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
I'll be damned if I can find a quote, but way back in the day I believe Tanaka mentioned that FFXIV's tech level was envisioned as being around 400 years after the 13th-century setting of FFXI. As of 2.0, though, Ul'dah and Limsa are easily 18th-century pre-industrial, and Gridania and Ishgard are visually rustic but actually quite modern in their engineering. Garlemald is straight-up 20th century now, since they already have aramid fibers and functional computers. And who the hell knows what Sharlayan is up to?Hmm, I don't know if Hydaelyn pseudo medieval though, more so on the verge of an industrial revolution considering the sort of tech Ishgard and Garlemald have and that Cid and some parts of Ul'dah are introducing, Eorzea is just lagging behind due to the power of magic and a resistance to new ways of life.
Schizo tech is fun! Aside from Archers and Pugilists, the rest of the war implements on display were used, sparingly, up through the First World War, but the fact that guns have somehow avoided replacing bows entirely, especially in Ul'dah, is one really big reason people confuse FFXIV for medieval fantasy. That and ye olde butcherde Englishe script.
i know that there are issues with child like characters but giving us the option to make our character even shorter should be fine in ff14 there are 3 instances where a character is a teen u have the elezen twins and from where i am in the game you have seen another teen like character and that is e-sumi-yan the master of conjurer's guild so making our character that size should not pose any weirdness i'm mean look at most of the ff games they are mostly teens ranging from 16(zidane tribal) to 18(squall leonheart) and lets not forget vivi who is 9 years old and eiko 6 years old the youngest character who fights in a ff game. also when you create a human in ff14 there is a face like a a young/teen boy but it does not work well with the height options you get.

OK so since I didn't see anyone mentioning it.
According to the Eorzea Encyclopedia, Elezens stay shorter until approx 20 y/o. It is because they live longer than most races. It's even mentioned that they are mocked by hyurs and others because of that since they really are small (ref. Alphinaud and Alisaie who are, yeah, quite small) but when they reach about 20 years old, they do start to grow to the Elezens we come across (and can play).
That's about it![]()
Was it just me or did the twins' (especially Alisae) voices sound more mature as of 5.0? Like in a "we're doing this deliberately cus its been a year for them and we're showing change" kind of way.
Well, a childish voice would also not fit an Alisaie whose lines, in SB and especially ShB, could be interpreted as 'having a thing for the Player Character'.
