miqote skin tones changed?

When I created my toon back in the day I picked the darkest black I could go for. This might be my imagination but I swear the black is more like grey now, particularly noticeable after the last patch. Has anyone else noticed any changes? I'm going to try and dig out some old photos, but things like my black facial tattoos are very prominent now, whereas before they kinda blended.

There was a skin tone change during the switch fom 1.x to ARR, but not within ARR.

Now I understand some changes were because of better processes and handling ect. But why in the name of f*** would you change something so mundane?

My skin tone used to be a pale "stainless steel" grey back in 1.0.
Now it's pretty skin coloured. :\

The lighting in 1.0 was very different from the current lighting.

Yeah I knew it had changed from 1.0 but today it seems even lighter than before. I wish they'd left it at 8

I remember you could get a perfect black miqo'te in 1.0, it was interesting. I especially remember this one miqo'te that also managed black gear making them look like a living shadow. Why the change? Well, I don't know. Maybe in facilitating the expanded skin tone palettes they had to lose the sharper colors.
