Heavensward question (about multi-platform accounts)

For players who have FFXIV on multiple platform types, I know that in order to have complete access to all parts of Heavensward, you need to buy HW for each platform, but I'm still not clear on what happens if you have both ARR and Heavensward on one system, but only ARR on another.

Here's one piece of the answer that I have found:

Heavensward must be installed on the client to access the areas that will be added in Heavensward. If you are planning to log back in on a client that doesn't have Heavensward installed, make sure to log out in an FFXIV: ARR area.

However this only addresses the regions of the new expansion. What of the expansion's other features? What if, while playing on your Heavensward-enabled platform, you make your character a Dark Knight? Would you then be able to play as such from your other platform? Or what if you change your character to an Au Ra? Would that lock you out of the other platform entirely?

I know the new jobs and race come with the expansion, but is that requirement on whether you can unlock the jobs and create or fantasia to an Au Ra? Or is it on whether you can even log in as a new job or race? Is logging out in an FFXIV: ARR area enough?

You'd probably be stuck at the character login screen being unable to log in if you had logged out as a DRK and are trying to log in with a non-HW-enabled client. The exact same scenario I see if you log out in a new area.
So best to switch to an old job before logging out.

Yoshi-P mentioned how he plays on one platform at work and a different one at home, he forgot to log out in an old zone, went home, couldn't log in at home, had to go back to work, switch zones before he could log back in at home :P

I could see that as a possibility for the jobs. It's a bit harder to deal with if you've become an Au Ra, though.

Well, that matches what Bayohne said in the message I quoted above, but again, it only concerns the zones.

(Incidentally, I don't think they set up that zone rule very well. Rather than having logged out in Ishgard meaning that you can't log in at all from an ARR-only platform, a better solution would have been that if you'd logged out in Ishgard, logging in from an ARR-only platform has you wake up in the inn of your starting city rather than appearing wherever you'd last logged out.)

That's the cutest thing I've ever read, lol.

Though, I think they should really change it to where it just kicks you out of the new zones. Just puts you in Corthas by the location into Steps of Faith since that's the closest point to Ishgard and areas.

I dunno about the new classes, though. Since it's not like they could pick a gear-set and make your change to it or something. :x They could always stick you on a DoL/DoH class (like just equip the tool so you'd be nekkid, but you don't need a soul stone equipped to use the tool), but not everyone has those unlocked so that might not work either.

Oh this question again.. Because of how early access works, come 3.0, everyone (including all platforms) will have Heavensward installed on their system. If a code for Heavensward isn't redeem after early access (or didn't redeem an early access code), then you are locked from going to the new areas. The game can't lock you out if you are a DRK or an Au Ra because not only is the data there, but because the game has to be updated to be compatible with everyone. Now if you logout in a Heavensward area, gg as you will be locked out if the current platform you are playing on doesn't have a Heavensward code redeemed.
