I wanted an OPTION to turn AA on and OFF... now I'm suffering the slow gameplay and standing in place..In all honesty, I just went from spamming 1(2,3) to spamming skills.
That aside though, basic attacks (including ones bought with marks) should just have their recast timers taken away. That way, if you don't want to spam, you can just let auto-attack go all you want, and I'll just be over there <- spamming my attacks and enjoying the battle system like I used to.
It works alright with gladiator only because the attack delay is the fastest of all DoW, but even then some of the cooldowns on some of the non-TP skills is ridiculous (a full minute for heavy stab/slash???) At present, Archer is the ONLY DoW aside from a tanking gld that feels like you're keeping busy.
I agree with the OP, the ability to auto attack should have made a toggle, at least then it would allow the player to choose what style they needed.
........What?just fine is not good, just fine is not fun. just fine will not compete with other games. All the melee playing like gimpede versions of lnc is stupid. A 4.2 second delay compared to people who are a second faster is stupid, its like they didnt even look at the problems they created, and then had to solve in ffxi when they decided to jack the system.
as far as it not being complete, im actually talking about what is there now, and what they proposed to change. Trolling is not disagreeing with someone or discussing the topic of a thread.
By you saying to wait till its complete, it sounds like you think that when its complete it will solve the problems, that means you think it has problems, what have the developers said that addresses whatever problems you think the system has? Do you think the things they have presented will solve the problems in the best way? what do you propose that might help further those solutions?
Answer that and you have constructive critiscm, and maybe, if they feel like looking at it you have something valuable to the developers. Its a forum, look up what the word means, and the goal of it is, before you think that talking is trolling. Very little is acheived by blind faith, its cool you like the battle, but i dont, and im going to tell them why, and hope they make something better that can hold peoples attention, because thats what a game should do.
Arguing with you would be like arguing with a wall expecting to win.
I think it translates as:
If you think there's flaws in the battle system, post these problems on the forum, and maybe the developers will see it and consider doing something about it, if enough people agree that it is a problem.
Followed by:
Forums are designed so that people can share constructive criticism, opinions and ideas, none of these things can be considered trolling, as long as they compliment towards the thread topic.
I think that's basically what he was saying :3
i really don't mind auto attack being in the game as it does have uses. they don't even need to remove the recast timers completely. if they just took like the light basic abilities and put them on a timer close to the same time as auto attack is i would be happy. waiting for 1 min after a basic attack to use another one is beyond horrid. wait 1 minute....swing....miss.... wait another minute. In all honesty, I just went from spamming 1(2,3) to spamming skills.

i just feel the system speed should be increased which would increase my enjoyment level. i am not a fan of the standing and waiting on the game to build up enough tp for me to actually get involved in battle.

I said it before and I'll say it again, if that is the case you are playing wrong. This is simply not the case, not even with MRD the slowest delay class. You really must be missing out on some key things you should be doing if this is the case.It works alright with gladiator only because the attack delay is the fastest of all DoW, but even then some of the cooldowns on some of the non-TP skills is ridiculous (a full minute for heavy stab/slash???) At present, Archer is the ONLY DoW aside from a tanking gld that feels like you're keeping busy.
Last time I checked, there is no right or wrong way to play a game.
and in the same aspect you were complaining about spamming one was a problem. if you were spamming 1 you were playing it wrong with the old system.

The conspiracy-theorist in me would suggest that one possible reason why battle speed has not been increased is because it would amplify issues with latency and server unresponsiveness.
The Dev's really need to make manual attack and auto-attack an option and give a penalty for using manual. Maybe more damage but less accurate with manual and vice-versa with auto. With auto attack for DoW you dont generate enough DPS in between with just auto attack alone, but with WS and abilites yes.
I understand the whole social aspect of the game but sometimes its better for people just focus on the fight rather than typing during, the more you chatting with friends, other than party members you are with, the more distracted you will be.
They should have made it an option in the first place with a special icon to be seen which you are using.
They can send GMs out and observe which was used more. Maybe with manual attacks the raids may have been much better.
