So it seems the compromise would be lowering the cool down for basic attacks to about 3 secs and that will speed up the overall combat of all other classes. Leave archer just as it is. Also give lancer some accuracy will ya?

Accuracy for all classes is being increased in 1.19.
Finally the battle log will no longer read:
"Queen Bolette evades your attack x 10
Your attack misses Queen Bolette x 10"![]()
This would be pretty cool, but im pretty sure they are married to the long basic cooldowns. In all honesty they should probably come up with some new type of depth, that works better with AA, and some more basic differences in playstyle for each job. Like if marauder could do attacks that get stronger the longer they charge up, pugilist had access to some combo skills, or skills that lead to other skills and stances. Lnc AA had peirce, and had some more movement based skills like jump back or towards enemy.
They have basically ripped apart the old system and gutted it, so they really need to innovate and expand the classes within their new direction, rather than use the old systems in their old form.
problem is, i dont think it has occured to them that battle for the melee is no pretty much exactly the same and fairly boring
For what it's worth they might as well have kept the original system.
New one is still boring, although I do believe enmity changes were an improvement.
edit: And don't you think it's funny how people still complain about autoattack anyway? So doesn't that suggest that it was a waste of time?

and wtf is this guy.. are you even playing the game or just talking out the other hole? (not the one you eat with)For what it's worth they might as well have kept the original system.

Auto-attack is just fine guys go play the game you will find out, unless, you are just sitting there watching the auto attack feature eating some cheese with the whine your spewing?
This guy said it best.I can honestly see this only if you have the wrong abilities equipped or are very inefficient in how you play your class.
Combat is faster and it is more strategy based with a more logical flow. I'm sorry you haven't learned how to play in the new system yet, but don't blame the system itself. I'm sure if you go to the pugilist forums here, or whatever other class you are struggling with you can get some pointers on how to improve.
BTW... Don't mean to attack the OP, but why is a conj worrying about Auto~attack?

they should add way more depth to the system now with auto attack in it. combo's, chains... laddered moves maybe.
i dunno something like ff13 battle system was pretty fun, i will be pleased of the day we can switch between 3 classes at one time like that. lol
much deeper br's would be great, make them stack like threw out the whole battle till it lights up that it will kill the mob and then someone hits the go on it or something. iunno. but on top that i think every class needs way more moves. granted rdm was busy class but it was like refresh ...all the time ...it still was casting all day long something and i find that fun.. busy classes.
while i'm on the subject maybe the mods or devs see this ..i'd like to add ..if your in the works for a new final fantasy mmo 18 or something already, lets make it no target system and action based like tera, with dynamic world like gw2 and what i mentioned above some multiple class switching. gw2 lets u switch from 2 weapons instant move changes. ...but by that time this stuff might be old.

Autoattack is perfect for me. Have no trouble with it and is easy to use.
Keep it the way it is.
The only thing that should change is the Mp costs for Cure..
75 is waaaaaay too much. 50 would be perfect :-)
Maybe adding an option that let's you choose whether a certain skill is set to auto or not?
Personally I find it better for my Pugilist as I can survey my surroundings, type, and press lots of buttons in-between without having to worry about adding another button to that list just to gain some TP, and for Archer auto-attack only works at close range, and it's a punching attack, which seems kinda weird, though I guess smacking something over the head with a bow would be quite ineffective and probably break the bow.
Auto-attack on some classes seems kinda meaningless though, why bother giving it to Conjurer? The only time we would ever come to rely on it is when we're out of mana or don't want to waste extra mana just to knock out that millimeter of health the enemy has, but even then there's always Spirit Dart.
But yeah, auto-attack is a bit of a relief sometimes when tanking or just trying to do a lot of stuff all at once, but maybe adding an option to turn it on or off would be a good idea to satisfy those players who liked the game without it.

I am a huge fan of auto attack for a couple reason.
1: My main being GLA now combat feels more strategic and I can be a tank.
2: 1111111111 is not fun no matter how many 111111111 key presses you push
3: I don't solo, I don't do Leve's. I play to be social. Unless I can push 1111 and people read from that "I just got off work and needed a beer" then...
Lol indeed, auto-attack is for people who like to talk whilst they're playing their online multiplayer game, thus it is justifiableI am a huge fan of auto attack for a couple reason.

(There's logic in it y'know)
