I'm sure you were just being facetious, but all the Ex battles do have tangible rewards of some kind so I don't know what you think would be different this time around.
There are a couple hard mode fights that don't give rewards that have Ex versions that do.
Meh, after doing the fight, im not really a big fan. To each their own but I probably wouldnt bother with an EX mode. A huge dragon that can fly, moving at an unrealistic snails pace, across a bridge towards 3 out of the original 4 magical barriers.
So Iceheart destroys the outermost barrier, now suddenly the rest can be bashed down? Why wasnt Iceheart there to help finish the job? Why didnt dragon just land poised to attack the first barrier from the start?
Seems the whole design/story was just kind of halfassed, IMO. Maybe im being too picky but I also didnt like the fight itself. It relies too heavily on using vehicles (canons and tower) which are kind of clunky and somewhat buggy to use.

No i was being dead serious. It is blatant assumption that SE would treat an EX version of SoF like an ex-primal fight. Or that a harder difficulty version of SoF would even be called SoF EX for that matter-i just tacked the EX on to distinguish it from the actual and presently only version of that fight available-which you just didn't seems to get.
My assertion stands though, without a reward equal to the amount of effort the 'Un-named Hypothetical Steps of Faith Fight-Harder Difficulty Version' will turn into a ghost town after the initial surge.
I'd rather them just put resources towards new fights. SoF was really kind of boring to be honest.
When there is already a precedent for it with Ultima, I don't think it is TBH. There's very little reason why they couldn't sit the Wandering Minstrel down in a bar in Ishgard and have him dramatically recount the tale of how we took on Vishap, and throw in some rewards relevant to 3.0s iLv. Not really sure what they could even do with Steps of Faith though.
Yep. The fight was not mechanically hard or even that interesting. It was a nice change of pace, but I don't really see what direction they could take it in for an EX rematch.
Why not? It would be the same reason why single player games of all kinds have multiple difficulty settings. Some people find games more fun with the difficulty turned down, some don't. Everyone has a preference. I personally like how it's done with the primal fights. The harder fights aren't mandatory but they give more rewards if they are completed. I think that is perfectly fair. The same philosophy can be applied to any duty in this game Steps of Faith included.
Or they can create completely new difficult content and not rehash the same old fight again, and again, and again, AND again.
Then put simply. Considering EVERY ex fight so far has tangible rewards why do you even think this is an assertion worth making? It's unsupported by every precedent made concerning Ex fights so far. Obviously it would have tangible rewards.
You carry on without me since you are so hung up on wording. I felt like posting it and for someone not looking to pick a fight, it is probably fairly easy to get my meaning. For some reason you took umbrage or w/e over, well meh.
