    Multi-Job Raids

    Recently Silverware posted a thread about a random job roulette (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...m-Job-Roulette) which reminded me that I have been meaning to post a similar idea.

    I would like to see a type of raid where you must use more than one job. This could happen in a few different ways, but would likely be something like a forced job change mid-raid after clearing one phase or area, before you may proceed to the next phase/area.

    Perhaps the raid would also require you to change ROLE, just to make it more interesting.

    This sort of raid would probably require advanced planning, and the downfall might be that it could take a long time to sort out who is doing what for each phase--it could take some time to get a party together. I think it would be some very fun and interesting content though.

    Reminds me of the 1.0 days where you could freely change classes in a dungeon, and so you would, because specific parts would be easier with a different makeup.

    I like this idea but it would be refused by the huge part of community for.. reasons.
    People don't want to be pushed to play different jobs, they have social life and family, so they cannot level up or gear up more jobs, also don't want the game to be full of elitists who expect from them to have more jobs etc.

    This used to be a thing with 1.2X speed runs. People would optimize the party structure for every part of the dungeon, from stacking BLMs for specific pulls, to very exact boss setups. I remember one run in Cutter's Cry where I must've switched class like 3-4 times, between BLM, DRG and MNK. BLM for trash, DRG for midboss, BLM for trash again, MNK for last boss if I remember correct.

    Anyway, it can get out of hand because people will use it to optimize things and stop accepting people in roles where they can't handle 2-3 classes perfectly, or have them leveled and geared in the first place. If it was a forced "roulette" kind of thing in easy content, it might be fun.

    That's the thing. On one hand, it was cool to switch around. On the other hand, it felt required to have every DPS job leveled and geared. That being said, it would likely not be as big of a deal now, considering weaknesses are not as important as they were before (such as ants taking more damage from piercing, so you stacked DRGs).

    As ridiculous at it may sound, it could be a GATE? With nothing but an achievement like that crazy WTFungah one. Fun to do and challenging, but not something that people will cry about (too much at least).
