    Blindside

    Does this skill actually do anything wortwhile? I wanted to test to see what kind of damage increase it has and while I don't have pages and pages of results, it's a buff so there should be some kind of noticeable effect right?

    Anyway, vs a dodo my own rank (37) I decided to test the effect of blindside on concussion blow and flurry (since 1 hit vs 3 hit, tp move vs regular move). Tested all these on the same mob via running away from it and letting it reheal itself.

    Without blindside;
    Flurry = 118, 130, 111
    Concussion blow = 556

    With blindside;
    Flurry = 136, 122, 129
    Concussion blow = 582

    So there *is* a damage increase. I should note I took even the non blindside data from behind the mob since I think it increases damage? Anywho. I wanted to compare this to Archer's "Raging Strike" ability (note I don't have the archer +affinity ability yet)

    With raging strike;
    Flurry = 129, 150, 136
    Concussion blow = 631

    I understand the whole "you have to stand behind the mob" and each time I used the correct buff, went into passive mode, lined up and initiated the attack unengaged so there can't have been any placement issues (I also repeated this a couple of times for each thing and the results were the same save for like a 5 damage difference)

    I'd also like to point out I use a mainly dex build and I was using blindside not blindside II (because I don't have it yet).

    So is there a way to get a lot more out of Blindside or is it in need of a serious buff? Also I know there'll probably be a "stack both" reply but looking at this I can't honestly say it's worth messing around to position yourself to use blindside. Maybe it's worthwhile with follow through? I don't know.

    i dont get anything noticeable when i use it, maybe dex would boost the effects, idk. my critical hits hit for more then a reg hit with blindside. seems like blindside should hit for more then a critical hit imo.

    I do have to jump in and say something here afder reading some of this. I can understand how it feels to you in play, but why even bother posting here? Someone just did actual test and posted what we can only assume as accurate numbers, and you post in the debate, appearing to disagree with him, having no facts and using the words: noticeable, maybe, seems, should.

    Don't get me wrong, you have a right to your opinion, and I am not bashing you for it, just seems like a waste of a post. I also have to ask what do you mean by "noticeable" ?

    Honestly, I Blindside more on Archer in conjunction with Multishot than I do on Pugilist. Since I got Follow-Through though I do use them together. I'll get online and do some testing right now. I have Blindside I & II so I'll mess with both on Pugilist, then mess with both on Archer w/o Seasoned Veteran, then again with.

    EDIT: I put positioning in brackets. My initial run was on the R1-3 Marmots right outside the city however my one Blindside did [Critical! 864, 864, Critical! 864] and I immediately scrapped that data.

    R32 Thickshell
    [Rear]Flurry – [201, 183, 184]
    [Frontal]Flurry[196, Miss, 187] [191, 190, 189] [195, Miss, 185] [195, 183, 194]

    R31 Thickshell
    [Rear]Blindside + Flurry – [Critical! 287, 259, Critical! 295] (Obvious damage increase even on the non-critical)
    [Frontal]Blindside + FollowThrough – [1497]

    R34 Thickshell
    [Frontal]Blindside II + FollowThrough [1122]

    R32 Thickshell
    [Frontal]Blindside + FollowThrough [1312]

    R33 Muy-Tun Squirrel
    [Rear]Flurry – [Critical! 363, Critical! 367, 316]
    [Frontal]FollowThrough [1683]

    R33 Muy-Tun Squirrel
    [Rear]Flurry – [326, Critical! 354, 306]
    [Frontal]FollowThrough [1837]

    R30 Muy-Tun Squirrel
    [Frontal]FollowThrough [2038]

    R33 Muy-Tun Squirrel
    [Frontal] Blindside II + FollowThrough [1829] (No damage bonus. In fact, it did a bit less)

    So I mean while this isn’t extensive testing, it’s just an idea. I avoided testing with Victimize II since I don't feel like constantly building to 3k TP specifically to use it atm but I can test it along with Flurry and FollowThrough more extensively on Monday.

    And if you're interested, I have
    84STR
    137DEX
    I'm using Peiste Cesti +1.

    EDIT2: I don't know if you noticed it in your testing and I didn't during the R34s because I wasn't on them very long, but during the Marmots, using Blindside had a pretty noticeable increase on the critical hit rate. It might've just been coincidence though.
