Please make seasonal/holiday events more apparent in-game

I have been discussing the recent moon earring event with someone on lodestone, who apparently had no idea the event was going on until she came across it on the forums. We believe we should be notified in-game somehow of these events being available in the cases like this one where it's not easily apparent and there's no special music. We're aware the NPCs for these quests shout at you when you walk by, but it's somewhat easy to miss.

We had a few ideas that might help solve this:

• Provide a new NPC linkpearl for events

If this was implemented the NPC linkpearl would light up when an event was going on, and a NPC involved in the event could give us some basic information on the event and where to start it.

• Add a message to the system message upon logging in

A simple note upon logging in, at least letting us know something is going on, along with possibly a URL for either lodestone or the event page itself.

• Add a link to the event information on the login page

Add a little banner ad for the event before or after logging in and before we actually enter the game that will link to the event's lodestone page.

As a new player I had no idea that a event was going on untill I read it here on the homepage, So I agree that there should be some sort of information coming my way when logging in

I agree with this. I only knew about the event from the lodestone, and when I logged on, I couldn't figure out what to do or where to go..so NPC's or something in game would help a lot.

I think this thread might get more attention in the General Discussion forums though? Just a thought. Cuz I'm sure many others would agree.

I wanted to practice proper forum etiquette and put it in the correct section, although I'm not too sure it's the right one. Putting it into General Discussion would probably just make a ton of people argue over off topic stuff in the long run too ><

It's more important that the devs see it since they look over more than just General Discussion, and this is a pretty simple fix if they just do at least the System Message.

Yeah that's true, some of the forums in GD go on too long, but others don't. Usually the threads with the biggest discussions and opinions get looked at by devs >.< (I think..I could be wrong..)
