For limited edition sets like these the retailers don't always get a clear warning of when they'll go live with that edition. So despite what the guy said, these special editions outside of SE were probably extremely limited quantity and went super quickly to people who had told the store they were interested in the collection and put enough down on the standard to have the funds transferred to collectors as soon as it was available. For online shops, you sadly had to be on at the right time to catch it.

I was on the mailing list, and I didn't get my email until 24 hours AFTER they had already sold out. That's how limited the supply was.
