


To me it sounds like a siege type of event.... defend a specific location,probably from beatsmen or imperials, that try to attack it,... hopefully with a Boss/NM at the end plz!Going to add to this, with a little crazy speculation on top. Perhaps the caravan/hamlet defense will be related to Grand Company quests. If so, maybe, like in FFXI campaign/besieged, the Grand Company heroes/leaders will accompany the caravan or be present at Hamlet and you have to defend from swarms of imperials with, possibly, one of those imperial generals (gun-halberd) showing up.
Would be cool, just sayin/speculating.


Personally, I only dislike auto attack and that we won't have Physical Levels/ stamina. But I know for a fact that I'm just afraid of change. It will work out fine, and if it doesn't they can fix it again. FF14 will be at the top of the MMO list in no time. =)



Why do you dislike auto-attack? And personally the physical levels were just usless IMO.

Auto-Attack is on of the reasons I play again, and now that they fixed the exploit Leve quest system. All in all I think ffxiv is heading in the right direction. Many of my friends ask me here and there how the game is doing and if its worth picking up. I tell them my honest opinion and hell, right now it's free. Its a good time to pick it up. I've been playing many MMOs since my 7 yr stent in ffxi and have yet to find anything that keeps my attention for more then 6 months. If Astral burns and Abyssea hadn't destroyed ffxi in the first place, I'd still be there.


Onidemon, Well, I guess because i like complicated systems in a game. The most complicated game I can think of FF8, and I love that one. But as i said in my post, I'm just afraid of the game changing. Even though i loved Tanaka's direction for the game, I'm willing to see what the game is like when Yoshi has fixed it.

some fixes were ok, some were meh. i don't know yet if i see this game dying out in a year from p2p or if it succeeds as well as ffxi did. they still missing everything that i expected from the game, but there is empty promises of there being them. like full scale linkshell events, i get the wait, all good but i'd be pissed if game die out b4 they get added, or they change there minds like a million other things. i don't know if i'm willing to pay them for there screw ups till i see the things i want in game, then i can say ok, other then that i'm just paying them for there adasity to launch early when they knew they was not ready. besides all that i agree with user, i'm not a mule, i have almost all caped classes now and nothing much left to do but wait.
i say it again ...game needs Party missions, full party grinds, full linkshell events. without these 3 things this game will suck. again i get it, ...in time. i just don't think paying untill then is right anymore. the end game i see right now and direction of dungeons is a joke. but we'll see on the day they announce "We Want Your Money"


I've past caring now, maybe the game will turn out great but why should i care? Where the hell is the PS3 game, until they show this game running on a PS3 then i just don't care anymore. It wouldn't kill them to give us an update on it occasionally.



Pretty sure they said that it's mostly done but they want to release it once they feel it's worth releasing.

If the updates didn't take so painstakingly long to produce, I might be a bit more excited. We're hoping for a fully fleshed game by patch 1.21, maybe 1.22? That'll be next summer (possibly approaching two years since release), and this one ain't even over yet.

100% agreeGame is looking bright in the future with the content that is being said but I have to see it first honestly to make a final determination. So I would say I am on the optimistic side but not at the OMG this game is going to the best mmo eva point.
All the future content sounds good, but we have to see how in-dept it is. Shallow game is a fail game. I want to know what kind of endgame will come out of XIV. Will it be all small instanced like dungeons like alot of western mmos (complete fail) or will it have complex events like XI where there was multiple tiers and paths which decided the results, events that took more then a day of work to complete (you had to do them in stages, like VNMs, ZNMs, Limbus, Einherjar..etc)?
All the content they said they are adding add could be good it sounds like it to me anyways. But the style of the event can be bad.. I mean the Dark Hold dungeon was good in my opinion (challenging, unique in the game atm, was hard until you figured out the strat) but for many there is literally no reason to reenter the dungeon ever again (Shallow, short lived content). SE needs to add long-lived content with a reason to keep doing it, or the cycle of not enough events will continue to happen. Atm SE is not releasing content fast enough to have short lived events. For some linkshells at 1.19 unless something is added to old content all the content prior to it will be meaningless to them... and that is a major problem which I am hesitant is even being noticed by devs atm.
If they mix up long events with short ones, large group more then 8, small group 3-8, and solo stuff the future is really bright. If they keep this 8 person cap, short term only western style content... well this game is in deep trouble in the future, unless they can crank out like a new dungeon every other week.
