About us:
Heavensward is here, and Hurricane has risen to its challenge! Fresh 50's stumble forth into the snow, and are killed by dragons. A time of uncertainty and peril, where both seasoned adventurers and wide-eyed nublets wear cardboard quest reward shoes, wipe on four man content, and get mentally rekt by eight consecutive hours of Moogle-themed fetch quests. "Fetch me a soda. Kupo!"

Anything goes, and Hurricane contains and welcomes all kinds. We're a semi-casual raid Free Company, meaning three nights a week, three hours a night. If you want to try your hand in our semi-static, climb aboard. If you're level 16 and you want to chase a couple level 60's through the fastest clear of Sastasha the world has ever seen, dedicated solely to your personal progression, look no further. We'll even do it level-synced, if you ask nicely.

But that's just the surface. Hurricane isn't exclusive to FFXIV - outside of it, we're called Maelstrom. (THE GRAND COMPANY RIPPED US OFF, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.) Founded years ago on a certain private Rangarok Online server by Xarale/Mikey, we killed infinity zillion Porings, and then decided it was time to find something else to grind away our precious lives on.

What can we offer you?
A perky, active Free Company that wants to get to know you, and involve you in our activities, every step of the way, and at every level of play. We're not looking to fill up our roster.
We're looking for new friends!

What it do?
Our activities are not limited to FFXIV. Long time guild traditions include:

• Movie night - Scheduled
• Karaoke - Scheduled
• Cards Against Humanity
• Board games (usually via Tabletop Simulator on Steam)

These activities take place on Raidcall, which we highly recommend getting, both for the aforementioned activities, and coordinating dungeons and raids. Also, we're chatterbugs. If you need help getting set up, don't worry! We'll provide what you need for each activity, with the exception of Tabletop Simulator.
(This ain't a charity, pal. Pay for your own steam titles!)

In game, our primary hours of activity are 5 PM to 12 AM, CST, as the majority of us are based in NA. There are also some charming dingo ranchers Aussies, who tend to appear at whatever weird hours they please, and we are powerless to stop them from doing this.

What are we looking for in a member?
Active, friendly, humorous and sociable, of any level, gear level, or skill. Come raid with us, and gear up for Dragon Attack Xmas! Or be level 2 forever, and watch movies!

Now, we'll tell you a bit about ourselves. I am Voclain AKA Butt. I am not new to FFXIV, having played on and off since 1.0., in a variety of guilds and servers. As each of these efforts tended to end in volcanoes of drama and petty in-fighting, I have decided to start fresh by sweet talking my pals from outside Eorzea into playing with me. So far, so good.

I'm addicted to Black Mage and Goldsmith, and I know most of the raid and dungeon content by heart. I'm ready to share and teach and throw gil at you. I'm also at that wonderful phase of relic weapon development (Novus->Nexas) where the thing levels up simply by doing any old dungeon, so expect me to volunteer for just about everything.

Hello! I am one of the members of Hurricane or the Raidcall group Maelstrom and thought I'd introduce myself!

IRL I am a student of sciences. I like video games (PC). I've played classics like the Baldur's Gate series, Planescape Torment, and (recently) Pillars of Eternity. I've been self-teaching mandarin chinese because I have too much spare time on my hands right now, though this also means I'm also in FFXIV a lot! In FFXIV I like playing with others and helping fellow guildmembers with quests (I am quite flexible having a level 45 WHM and 50 DRG, though I'm hoping to get a tank up and running soon too). I am also trying to kick all my crafting/gathering classes into shape, particularly the leatherworker and weaver classes since there are some really huge holes in the market right now that basic noob gear is sometimes running at 100,000 gil (absurd!) I am also enjoying chocobo racing, and have a tier 2 bird atm. Feel free to bug me anytime!

Note that on Raidcall we also play games like Sonic All Stars Racing and Hammerwatch. Some of us (like me, Xarale Tia, Voclain Praux) play Terraria as well. I also have other multiplayer games like Age of Wonders III and PSO2. I'm sure there's something you've played that we've also played!

EDIT: Just wanted to add that I now have a level 50 WHM and 51 WAR. My DRG is level 60. And Leatherworker is 50, but I haven't done anything significant with that class yet!

Yo! I'm Steph! I am a one-month newbie, and am currently focusing on leveling a ninja. My character name is Fiyero Flynne, but I am more commonly known outside FF14 as Gadget, as that is my main character in Ragnarok Online. Unfortunately, I abandoned the name Gadget because I thought it sounded weird with a surname! You'll also hear guildmates call me "Gatget" because of a certain random stranger who approached me in Ragnarok Online and, despite my name clearly being shown in the chatbox, would not stop calling me "Gatget." Now it is with me forever. It's been a few years and I'm still not certain how I feel about it! I figured I'd explain this ahead of time so you all can be in on the joke as well.

I'm the one who organizes the movie events. The steps are pretty simple: We vote on movies, I download and then upload them, then YOU download them, and we watch it together at a scheduled time. Sometimes there's drinking (okay a lot of the times there's drinking). We don't always enjoy every movie we watch, but there is *always* laughter and good times. ... Well, maybe except the one time we watched Grave of the Fireflies. I think we decided after that to no longer watch such depressing movies.

To sum up: Real name is Steph. Common alias is Gadget/Gatget. FF14 ingame name is Fiyero. Yes, I am female. And yeah I'm the one whose voice sounds like a prepubescent boy. :|

Also, true story: I only decided to level my rogue because I fell in love with V'Kebbe, despite her terrible name. I'm sad to no longer see her at the rogue guild or ninja quests, but at least I can spot her outside the culinarian's guild!

Heya, I am Jill, I'm a vet from the beta and for a while after who took a loooong break and started from scratch again just a few days ago on Famfrit! I main a Scholar and love it to bits. I go by Cress, and occasionally Cherri, but opted to make Cherri my first name here because I live near a place named Cressbrook and loved the sound of it. I'm Australian and as a result am around at weird hours, which isn't helped by the fact that I work a lot. I am a baker by trade and love cooking of all sorts, but you'll never see me do it in game, because reasons. Ask me about IRL recipes at your own risk, I will be able to talk forever.

I love to voice chat, so if you join us and get in on our RC, feel free to start chatting away, I at least will respond! Also, I have a very small youtube channel that I sometimes bang on about a little too much.

Howdy!

In game, I go by Zwerivelle Lumei, but you can call me Mitchi, Z, Zel, and Zweri. Whichever one tickles your fancy. I'm focusing on white mage because why not, and I'm brand spanking new to the game. Got dragged here by Steph and Mikey. Though I'm a Miqkitty in game, I'm totally a Lalafell out of game, and by that I mean I'm hopelessly vertically challenged. I only hang out with tall people so they can get things from high places for me.

As for out of game, I'm usually up for most games the rest of the group does, like Sonic All stars, Terraria, Transformice, Hammerwatch, Monaco and occasionally Gauntlet if I can get anyone to stomach playing the game with me. For single player gaming interests, my favorites include Corpse Party, Ar Tonelico, Rune Factory, Harvest Moon (including Story of Seasons, not including Lost Valley), and Recettear.

I'm a seamstress by trade, have three dogs, and can make a killer pot of Chili.

Hi there!

I'm Xarale AKA Mikey, founder of our original guild, Maelstrom. As Butt/Voclain mentioned briefly, we were born back in 2008 on a certain Ragnarok Online private server. After that, we played various RO servers over the years until the majority of us (thanks to some encouragement from Butt) decided it was time to try something new, and thus here we are. Although I've stepped down from the main group leader role for FF14, you'll still see me around helping out here & there.

I did originally play during Beta phase 3, and shortly after launch. However I couldn't really get anywhere due to terrible lag issues I was having. These issues ultimately forced me to stop playing back then. Thankfully these issues are a thing of the past now, but since I didn't really progress back then, I still consider myself to be a relatively new player. I re-joined FF14 last month along with Steph, and have been actively playing ever since.

I've played many of the large/well-known MMOs out there over the past 11 years (most notably Ragnarok Online and WoW), but I have to say FF14 is the first MMO in years to pull me in and maintain my interest. I'm loving the game & story so far and I look forward to seeing much more of it, along with all the random and epic adventures to come. I'm still currently deciding on a main class/job to focus on, but so far Summoner is my main. (this will very likely change once Heavensward is out though - Machinists sound sexy, and my kind of class)

I Played FFXIV:ARR for 4months when it released, but got dragged back to WoW and just forgot I had a FF account.
Later when my guild in WoW disbanded I returned here..
I've been learning how to play every role, even though I'm most fond of Summoner.(well just have to see what happens when heavensward releases)
Currently I'm playing with my alt, since my main is on another server.. awaiting its transfer

I only joined Maelstrom a while back after crashing their karaoke nights,
So I'm a new addition and I can say.. people fit in right away.. atleast I did..

I play all sort of games, though now I'm focused on Final Fantasy and Town of Salem..
My favorites in both movies and games are of course horror, but in everything else... I'm the ADHD that won't stay still.. And it shows in my gaming..

Oh, and I'm around at random times since I'm from Europe
