    Unable to Update Patch Files

    Hello, tech support forums!

I'm currently attempting to update FFXIV and I am encountering the error "Unable to update patch files. [11006][20815][20866][19900][32] C:/Program Files (x86)/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn/game/ffxiv.exe"

Any clue as to what I could do as a solution?

Try a computer restart first. Sometimes Windows Update will download and half install Windows patches, and won't let you install anything else until you have restarted your computer. I've had this happen to me a few times.

I have the same error message. Tried a computer reset, that didn't work.

check your security isn't blocking things somehow. You get the same message when a firewall/antivirus is clamping down. IDK if the SSL/TLS reset glitch with the last IE update would affect this or not (it can knacker up the launcher in general), but might want to check the internet options (inetcpl.cpl) to make sure all of them are active on the advanced properties tab. Check your adblock and popup blocking as well just to be sure.

Thanks for the suggestion, Raist- it didn't help, but it gave me an idea to try that did fix my problem. Apparently I had a backlog of Windows updates that I hadn't installed- installing those and resetting my computer allowed me to log in.
