    Really starting to get discouraged from playing.

    I love this game but its just starting to get to be a bit much.

    I enjoyed coil for the most part. Cleared CoB and SCoB pre echo. Quit the game before FCoB. Came back a month before Heavensward.

    I see a lot of discussion on "Horizontal progression/Vertical progression" "Gear lockouts" etc.

    This is just my two cents...


    Removing gear lock outs would not cause people to unsub by blowing through all of their content. Why?

    Well, I myself personally play a Tank and two DPS with plans on leveling a healer. I'm pretty bummed out though that even though I have the ability to take all these jobs to max level, I'll never really get to use them all in end game content because it's impossible to gear them all at the same rate due to lock outs.

    I think a decent portoin of players who (according to the census) %62 community of DPS refuse to play as any of the %19 Tanks or Healers is because their alt jobs will suffer.


    Another thing that really bothers me is the the rate at which gear becomes completely obsolete. I mean on a massive scale.

    Atleast entering into HW your i130 gear was relevant until like level 54.

    But when you have casual gear come into play that immediately replaces the previous raids gear, its a bit much.

    This would kind of all be fine and dandy if you could maybe actually gear up faster without all the lockouts, so you could enjoy that gear for a longer period than say... "Congratulations you got the full set. Heres a new one".

    Why can't we add equipment with proc effects on it? Weapons, Armour, Trinkets?

    Why can't we have some kind of variance in equipment. Yeah there will always be "This is best in slot" but can't we have some "Heres some cool stuff on the way there" or "Heres two different this which balance out to be as good as the latter".

    Like why can't we have multi hit weapons?
    Why can't we have magical/elemental effects on weapons?
    Why can't we have materia that boosts certain skills?
    Why can't we have materia on end game gear?
    Why can't we have a trinket/pocket equipment slot for trinkets with random/activated procs?
    Why can't we have something like the merit system from FFXI?
    Why can't we have a skill tree that unlocks traits, abilities and specializations?

    Why can't we have meaningful combat consumables like bombs/grenades?


    Like... I seriously have no plans on doing Alex savage or probably ANY of the savage content because its all essentially pointless. The game is just as homogenized and dull as it was at 2.0 with a fresh coat of paint.

    I'm so tired of people saying "Oh well theres this this this and this to do in the game". Running old content, leveling alts and crafting/gather is not considered main content in ANY MMORPG. It is always side content. Crafting is basically pointless, gil is mostly pointless and has no effect on your play experience and old content is only useful for glamours.

    New Alex, New 24 man, New 4 man dungeons and New tomes isn't new content if the gear is exactly the same with higher ilvs and different scenery. Give us change. Give is actual "New things to do". (Alex 2 involves using a vehicle. This is somthing that I would actually consider "new")

    Beating a dead horse with a stick is only so fun for so long when you only get to beat said dead horse with a different stick.


    Before anybody chimes in on the "Welcome to MMORPGs" part. No, I've been playing MMORPGs for like 10 years and they're not like this. FFXI, WoW, LOTRO, Runescape. You atleast had some gear variance and some gear stayed relevant (Which was mostly the trinkets/pocket slot items but atleast it was something).
