I keep making my password less and less secure...

Because for the 2nd time I am getting Squaresoft notifying me of "Suspicious activity" on my account.

And each time, I have to further simplify my fairly elaborate password so that I can still actually remember it.

Maybe you could be more SPECIFIC as to what "suspicious activity" is going on? Because eventually I'm just going to have to change my Password to "Secret" or some other stupidly common word, since my rather elaborate string of symbols, letters, and numbers is insufficient for you.

That's probably yourself logging in from a different device or address.

Except I haven't done that...at all. And I only very recently reactivated my account.

In that case, it may be somebody else trying to log into your account from a different location. They'd need your login and password to trigger this "change your password" thing, though. I am not sure what else could trigger this system, if it's not a login attempt with the correct information, but the wrong location or address.

can fix this issue with the security token or the free app for phones. If ur ip changes or you try to log in from another location this will keep happening to you.Its a security thing to help prevent your account from being hacked. With the token or the app you can log in anywhere from any ip address and never get your account flagged

Can also trigger if u switch servers or back to one server in a small period or buy a decent amount of stuff from store alot of different reasons for them to think its being suspicious

You probably don't have a static IP with your Internet provider and so it has the chance of changing, even more so if you regularly switch off your router.

If you add the security token (app or physical) like Silverbear mentioned above it'll solve all this as that overrides the IP check (as only the owner should have access to generate the one time password).

If you reset your router, or your ISP fails to provide a stable connection and your internet crashes, your IP probably changes and will count as if 'someone logged with your account' from a different place(IP). It happened to me a lot when I had a crap net and my connection would crash a lot, I had to keep changing my password almost everyday. Now it only happens when my ISP messes up and I lose my connection (has only happened like once a month). Sometimes it even could happen when you're sleeping and you didn't notice your net crashing.

You most likely have a Dynamic IP Address if it's not you logging on anywhere else, or you're keylogged, in which case every time you change your password it's still stolen (If you've already scanned for viruses/malware then it's not the latter).
A Security Token would help for both cases.
