    Trial wasn't hard, at all. Cooperation =/= difficulty. It's just some people have been handfed the entire game to them, so when an instance actually required them to press buttons not on their hotbars, they were exposed. Don't nerf instances for people who don't understand what interacting is.

    It still isn't going to help the disbanding in PF.

    The only reason I don't like the nerfs is because I believe they could have kept it were it was at (because really it wasn't that hard) while giving people a better REASON to run it more then once. Something like a Triple Triad card, people will trip over themselves running it multiple times to try and get it, which would also help out newbies who just want it done (and then maybe go back themselves to get the card as well if they don't get surpreme luck first try). Ultimately though its nerfed, nothing to do about it now.

    I was fine with making the trial slightly more forgiving just to deal with the sheer levels of uncoordinated faceroll people tended to go into the place with. The trial itself isn't even hard, it just required coordination - which sadly, most people seem to lack due to how little game content has actually forced players to do so, outside of more challenging content like Ex primals and Coil - and even Ex primals are starting to be able to be facerolled due to increasing gear levels.

    Nerfing a trial to this degree just because no one wanted to actually do it correctly and instead cry out that it's "too hard" was silly.

    This trial should have just reset if everyone is dead at the same time and then no nerf would have been needed. Because it did not, people would abandon and have to queue up again, which means no practice with the same group. I don't mind the story version being nerfed because of this.

    What I do mind, is that they did not introduce a hard mode like they do with other trials that are toned down to allow storyline progression. There needs to be a HM version (harder than the original version please), which has actual rewards of some kind. Maybe as part of the 3.0 drg relic quest line, that would be fun and be so much better then running old dungeons a gajillion times.

    I was surprised by the difficulty of both Chrysalis and Steps of Faith in the main scenario.

    By difficulty, I mean the requirement of communication and organisation to ensure all members are participating in the proper way, like a raid.

    Personally I would be fine with a separation where only casual content is in the main scenario, and team coordinated events are left to endgame raids.

    Though I got very lucky and my DF group passed the trial after just two wipes, the nerf is OK for at least two good reasons:

    1) Main story content should never be too challenging: it's "casual" content. Particularly if there is an EXPANSION gated behind it! There's lots of challenging content in the game.
    2) It will infuriate elitists to no end, and a game with infuriated elitists is a healthy game, because it's a game that can be played also (for example) by older people like me. Cater to elitists and you will follow the Wildstar road.

    While I had my first avatar clear SOF on the first day it was available, it was a few weeks later when I got my second avatar through it and did so with 5 people who had also not yet cleared with their avatars and we saw a lot of each other as we finished the last set of main story quests so it was satisfying to see more people get through to the end of the game. And keep in mind this was before SE nerfed the fight today. So take that, quitters!

    IMO not every story quest has to be easy and doable on first try, especially quest that is supposed to end a huge episode of story and is supposed to be epic.

    EDIT: Kinda weird that my character cannot kill a few braves and brass blades but it slices dragons like knife slices butter.
