To be fair, even with the way The Yosh and Co. approach development, SE has had over a decade of relative success with this business model. From a business standpoint, 'if it ain't broke...', no?
Just tightened that up a bit for ya.
With the tic-tac-toe I mean. Though I agree with Spirit, it isn't just FFXIV, or even gaming in general. Get two people together and eventually (and a good chance of right off the bat), they'll find something to argue over.
Someone has the skipping quote as part of their sig that demonstrates that.
This is all I want, honestly. I didn't start playing until September of last year, so by the time I got to Second Coil, it had already been nerfed-- and I was mad, because I wanted to try the unnerfed version but was cheated out of it simply because I started playing at the wrong time. It wasn't even a matter of not having much time to play, it was a matter of getting started late. If, on the other hand, they create both hard and easier versions and maintain both of them, regardless of whether players get to it the day it's released or a couple years later, then it's the players themselves getting to choose how they want to pursue that content. In terms of what's being developed, and even what needs to be done to earn the content's rewards, it's no different from the hard version early, nerfed version later pattern, except for disentangling that pattern from the timing of when the content is available.
It's hardly fair that the players who start playing when content is no longer brand-new are forced into nerfed versions of it whether they like it or not.
Don't hold your breath. There will be demands for nerfs to alex hard sooner or later. This is all I want, honestly. There will be demands, but the chance that SE will actually adjust the fights is pretty slim considering that part of the reason that Coil was nerfed was due to it having huge story details behind it; which they want players to experience. The Alexander raid is unique since it has both a Story mode and a Hard mode. If anyone were to demand nerfs, they're obviously in it just for the shinies.
As well since they are specifically comparing it to Savage mode (FCoB savage for some reason which doesn't exist but its probably ment to mean it would be harder than SCoB savage), it probably won't be nerfed since currently we can point to the harder version not getting the nerfs. There will be demands, but the chance that SE will actually adjust the fights is pretty slim considering that part of the reason that Coil was nerfed was due to it having huge story details behind it; which they want players to experience. Because those who want the nerfs have NOTHING to gain from doing savage other than a title. They wanted coil nerfs because of story AND the gear.As well since they are specifically comparing it to Savage mode (FCoB savage for some reason which doesn't exist but its probably ment to mean it would be harder than SCoB savage), it probably won't be nerfed since currently we can point to the harder version not getting the nerfs.
If the Alex hard mode gear looks different/is dyeable as well as having better stats, then I promise you people will shout for nerfs stating it is 'impossible' for them to get this gear and it isn't fair they are locked out from it, and SE will buckle and give them what they want.

It also isn't fair that simply because they don't want to learn it, they should get it easier. It's a thing a lot of people simply discredit; it doesn't matter how much some people train for their clears, there's always people brushing that away and demanding they need to be able to clear it with less effort.Because those who want the nerfs have NOTHING to gain from doing savage other than a title. Paying the same money=/=everyone should get everything.
