the increase on item level will unavoidably nerf the content. So there's no need to actually use echo/cut mechanics/lower boss hp to nerf the thing.

Titan Ex was bad, and is bad, and still will be bad. People will die.
Ramuh Ex was bad, and is bad, and still will be bad. People will be confused.
So is Mog Ex.
Challenging contents should remain challenging. It's been my reasoning since they first nerfed first coil. There's no reason to give free echo. None at all.

To me, it's just a fucking cheap way for SE to be lazy and not work on anymore the 2.0 content in between the gap from now 2 months ago to heavesnward. There's a more than three month gap in between 2.0 ending and heavensward. What the hell do they expect us to do? They just throwed the nerf of coils on players face, and giggles: "go nuts. you've something to do now."

Im speaking for myself here, but even today i'd rather take the penalty than running SoF again. It is probably much easier now but dont count on me to verify it. Trying again and again for 3 days was enough. I'll add that theres no reason (i.e rewards) to run it again either, oh and dont say sol, the amount we get isnt enough for the time ispend potentially dealing with first timers.

On topic, you should know by now that SE always do too much or not enough. Apparently theres nom middle round with them.

Steps of Faith is essential trial to progress main story. It's not supposed to be hard. I think what OP argues is the challenging aspect of the game i.e. coils and primals

While i agree with y ou SoF wasnt hard to begin with. If people wiped alot on it, me included, its not because it was hard, its because people are too dumb to coordinate with other players over simple tasks. All the nerfing won't help them improving that if they ever try real endgame stuff like coil one day.
