WoW is killing itself no need to worry about the next greatest thing. Their sub numbers have dropped 3 mil since WoD launched and the end of March.

Huh, subscription rates stopped rising at the end of TBC/beginning of wrath.... when they started the hyper themepark design. Then it fell every expansion after. Interestingly the design that got them to their millions numbers was when WoW had the more classic MMO approach. Oh well.
I guess loosing 3 million subscribers in 3 months is "doing well".
I dunno why people put WoW on some pedestal. At least, post-TBC/Wrath.

I'm not gonna try and correct you on your opinion, it is exactly that-your opinion. What i will say is what i have said elsewhere; if you cleared SoF and got a bit of challenge from it, is the change taking anything away from you? I mean, is someone else having an easier time at old you content you have cleared already and have zero need to ever touch again really harming you or anyone else that cleared it before the change?
And no, the whole 'they are not gonna learn X' argument is not a valid answer imo. Because, seriously, what is a player that has already done 1-50 and all of the rest of the Main Quest besides, really gonna learn from this fight that they haven't already had more than enough opportunities to have gleaned elsewhere in the game?
Bad players will still be bad and a good players will still be good. And honestly until SE starts offering a bonus service where customers can get extra content for extra cash, we all pay the same(approximately) fee every month.
Now if ppl people want to rail against content they spent tons of time learning/clearing(raids, future actual end-game activities, etc) being nerfed, hey i'm cool with that. Won't change anything if SE decides it needs to be adjusted, but i'll at least be on board with that anger/outrage.
I love all these deleted posts referencing "asshurts" lmao.
Yeah man, with this story quest nerfed, all of the ~*~hard content~*~ must be gone *ignores current tier raiding and all of savage coil*

Sadly, nerfs are inevitable with the game model that SE have chosen. The entire treadmill is one of planned obsolesce, and until SE can break that cycle we'll continue to see older content nerfed heavily and made irrelevant. The sad part is that this is not something that can be maintained, and if SE don't find a way off that treadmill they could ultimately make the entire game obsolete.
It is funny you refer to Steps of Faith as "older content" ^^
Be serious guy´s, get your Copy of any Single Player Game ever, say DMC... you fight 20+ Hours mastering each and every button, Head up to the Last Bossfight, and that guy falls apart with a combo counter not even reached a 10 Hits....
Never a mind was changed on an internet board, no matter how good your arguments are...

My quoted post wasn't solely about Steps of Faith, more that the nerf which hit the fight is a result of their current game model. With old content becoming obsolete rather quickly, the emphasis seems to be on getting all players to the same level. That means making the story content as streamlined as possible as well, so that when Heavensward is released people can access the expansion quickly.
When everything becomes a fast-track to the endgame, it's not hard to see why even recent content is being hit by the nerf bat to keep players from being to far behind.

There's a difference between 'taking a hit' and being in any kind of financial danger. Lest you forget, 7 million people still play WoW which is more than FFXIV and FFXI combined. In fact, if you just compare ARR, we're sitting at a measly 500k subscribers total, which is barely even scraping WoW's knee.
What I found most amusing is that there's apparently a 'pay per minute' version of FFXIV in China. So I guess all those banned gilselling accounts aren't worth as much to Square-Enix as everyone believes.
I suggest people take a look at the history of Wildstar before complaining about nerfs. Unfortunately your hard dungeon don't pay as well as well as easier ones. Casual players run the market whether you like to believe it or not. It's not hard to look at the numbers to see who completed SoF and who didn't and adjust accordongly.
People forget this is a business that was in danger of going bankrupt before the release of ARR. I don't blame them for being careful.
And the last couple most popular RPGs are Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne. What's the point? I'm pretty sure no1 cares how much money SE makes. They want the future content to not be boring as cow dung!!! You don't have to look far to see how ppl crying effects the game. Just look at the relic quest. The zodiac and zeta steps combined weren't as hard as the nexus step. And the next relic (if they don't give it to zeta people for free) will prob be even easier to get.I suggest people take a look at the history of Wildstar before complaining about nerfs.
