make daily fates triggerable whenever one needs it

It's kind of a new topic of a really old complaint:

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-take-too-long.

Fates required for reputation quests (such as "The Magitek Menace" FATE "A Wrench in the Works") take too long to pop. Except now, unlike over a year ago, there's far less people still trying to max their rep, so most likely you'll not only wait for forever for them to pop, but also do them solo when they do.

With demand being down, would it really ruin anything to be able to talk with an NPC to trigger these fates if you have a quest for them? I mean I understand that back then that would make those fates be up 100% as people were even camping it, but now, having in mind that you'll most likely be soloing them, would it really be that bad?

"The Magitek Menace" FATE "A Wrench in the Works" (for an example) if I recall has already had its spawntimer shortened once due to complains on how long it would take for it to spawn.

yesterday I stood there for over half an hour :I
Like really, we have Leves that people can trigger from their quest log, what would be so horrible about being able to trigger these ones?

Leves are personal quests where outsiders can't interfere, FATEs are open world events ment to bring people together. But as everything, in the end when most people are done with it the "leftovers" have to struggle to keep up.

Half an hour is not that long. I have waited for 2h+ on FATEs. -_-'

but that's the thing, the question is, should there be such a waittime on what otherwise is solo quests for reputation grinding that brings nothing else, except for a few cosmetic items?

Look at it as a timesink, all games has them. best answer I can give at this moment. ^-^'

Personally I would prefer that all these types of quests had an secondary condition that you could pick that's more solo-able (as FATE's can be challenging solo) but might take some time to finish. But you would not have to sit and wait for it.

If my memory serves me right, there's like 1 quest in each Beast Tribe that is a FATE quest. And when "leveling" up those Beast tribes you unlock more quest giver and can choose to skip quests if you don't like them. I did that in the end. Sure I would lose some Reputation points, but it was easier on myself.

if you make those FATEs triggerable, you may just remove the fate component out of the daily quests completely, because by definition a FATE pops up and is not just something you run to, start and turn in like a levequest or so.

well there are fates that get triggered solely by talking to an NPC, so while you don't turn it in like a leve quest, it's sort of like that.

well those NPC spawn with their own timer, just like a "Normal" fate. Its nothing like a levequest.

By all means, lets have more nerfs.

Just today I was doing the Arcanist level 1 quest, "My First Grimoire." I had to kill 3 wharf rats. Can you believe that ****? I mean already that's asking a lot of me, but then I found out they spawn outside the city gate. WTF, you know? I shouldn't have to go outside to find these things. Wharf rats should spawn right there in the Arcanist guild... and I should only have to kill 1... and by "kill" I mean it should die as soon as I target it.

FFS this game is so tedious and hard!!
