    Yay people are still bad. It's not the HP and crap, it's PEOPLE not knowing how to communicate.
    You can't only nerf stuff without somehow magically buffing the people too.
    When I come home I'm going to try my hand at DF too and see how it works.
    If anything, there should of been multiple SoF Party Finders going instead of people
    constantly trying to do in Derpy Finder. Coulda made friends and worked together within your server.
    So far I keep hearing DF Horror Stories...well whatta expect? Lol.

    Let's not forget what SE considers a nerf. Vishap had a LOT of HP (can't find the exact amount, surprised that's not listed somewhere) and there were quite a few times we lost with him at 1-2%. Shaving off a few thousand HP would have prevented those losses.

    There were also some problems with UI in this fight. One player who used a controller said she couldn't run canons because she'd get locked in and "stuck" on the canon controls and couldn't run away when Vishap started blasting the canons, so she'd invariably die. One guy running the towers missed the first one every time because he wasn't able to see the red ring on the ground.

    People were complaining about Steps of Faith like it was Turn 9 of Coil...it's no where close to that, hell its easier that the first binding coils of bahamut.

    Not trying to pick on you, your comment about "people complaining as if it was Turn 9" caught my eye. I think what a lot of people fail to realize is that there are hundreds of thousands of players in this game. That is a huge amount of people, and the skill level will range tremendously within it. Even with a ton of devoted time and practice, some people will just never be that good. It is what it is.

    So because a fight is painfully easy for you, it doesn't mean it's going to be a cake walk for the next person. SE is concerned about making this game accessible to as many people as possible. I do think they laid on the tweaks a bit hard, but hey, if that will get more people through the story and ready for the x-pac, that's fine. I've never understood why people get so riled up when something like this gets nerfed. It's the main story line - not some end-game raid where they will actually be getting loot drops.

    just like with the coil echo, even with the boosted help a bad player is still going to be bad. I fail to see how this nerf is going to be a disaster

    The problem is seeing how people rather give up then try to do anything that requires more than facerolling on the keyboard. To the point where they need to nerf the thing to oblivion so it is even doable. I never left on a SoF roulette, and always tried (in vain, I must admit) to teach people to do it. I'm glad I got my clear after 15 or so tries, with the normal difficulty. People are too lazy to stop being baddies, and that sucks some serious arse.

    That's why we can't have nice things.

    SE will think 10 times now before adding anything original for us to play. Way to go, you lazy arses.

    I wonder how many had success with a full group of people who were ilvl90, as the requirement, and not above who didn't have problems if everything didn't go perfectly. I was finally able to clear it post nerf on my first attempt. I was busy the first week so I didn't have time to get in on the initial rush, no problem with that, but I'm a dps and solo queuing into df during the dead hours (5 am est after I get out of work) leads to easily 40 minute queues. I got tired of waiting that long to have the group fall apart after the first or second attempt, even with good communication, so it was a nice to be able to get through it, but I was able to still see that if one of the cannons weren't manned and the DS was missed more than once the group wouldn't succeed without overgeared people. For an ilvl 90 group this is good as they don't need to be perfect but they can still screw up and fail.

    So they nerfed it in terms of enemy HP and damage, but you still have to communicate with your team - still have to use the cannons / dragonslayer / snares effectively? Good! I know it's frustrating having some players who just refuse to listen, but that shouldn't have to result in a faceroll story. Which up until steps almost entirely holds true except maybe for those whopping 2 mechanics in Chrysalis. The HP reductions should give a bit more wiggle room, because in my experience there's almost always a wipe or 2 for new groups as they figure out exactly what needs doing - but HOPEFULLY this doesn't dissuade them from more fights that encourage thinking and co-operation. We perhaps have all previous story content to blame for why some people are too lazy to do anything other smack the boss and dodge aoes. But that doesn't mean it has to continue for the rest of the game's lifespan.

    Steps isn't even complex at all. But perhaps there need to be clearer instructions or something? Sometimes I completely miss those text pop-ups mid-fight even though they get added to the chat log. That happened to me a lot during class / job quests, maybe it's just me but I don't find it very noticeable. Voice acting would be a major boon there. All the same, communication still wins. It may as well not be an MMO if people refuse to co-operate.
