Saying that Steps of Faith should be easy because its part of the main scenario is like saying

all Final boss in every game should easy because its part of the final scenario LOL.

ah well in the end i think the instance will probably still be a demon wall to people because IMO the issue wasnt the damage but rather people didn't wanna follow along with the game plan.

No. It's not the same. You literally cannot progress in the Main Scenario without SoF, which would mean people would be barred from Heavensward since you can't access Ishgard without completing the current end of the MSQ. You can progress to the expansion without many other things, including the Crystal Tower raids, Coil raids, and EX primals.

I find my apathy at something no one does except for trial roulettes or first time clears with no rewards barring some solidiery/poetics getting nerfed to be increasing.
Seriously, I understand the sentiment but Risk vs. Reward is a thing here people. SoF isn't a reward, it's a roadblock.
The mistake wasn't nerfing it, it was making it difficult to begin with.

The Steps of Faith isn't even that difficult. Communication; is it too hard in an MMO setting? The nerf is welcome. For players who are stuck, they can finally advance to Heavensward. But my only concern is communication. Is it really that hard to comunicate?

Yes, it is, especially with a playerbase used to various mechanisms which, at best, might be quasi-legal.*

* = Does not apply to just XIV here. XI has many good candidates.

Considering some of the demeaning, insulting replies from other people regarding how "easy" it is and how "unwelcome" the nerf on content they probably don't do anymore is, I'd say communication is a large issue.
Some people, even on a social game, are simply incapable of properly conveying their meaning, and some people are incapable of learning things with a single typed lesson.
It's not the amount of communication that's the problem, it's patience and quality of communication.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The only thing people "want" is "challenging content."
Which SoF is not. It's a roadblock that requires players to operate differently than normal, and with no rewards.
They had two choices: Nerf it, or add rewards that would be obsolete immediately.
Nerfing it helps in the long run since this is a MAJOR "Gate" to the heavensward content.

Another question: If it's "so easy" and "all you need is communication," combined with the lack of rewards, why does it matter if it's nerfed?

It's clear that the number of players who were clearing content was completely unacceptable to Square-Enix, so crap on all of us (yes, even me who went 1/30 or something) who actually cleared it unnerfed.

Totally belaboring the point i made a little bit back, but does the change to SoF somehow invalidate your eventual win after 30 attempts? Or is it a case of 'I walked uphill to school, both ways, through 10 foot snowdrifts, at absolute zero-so everyone else should too!!!!!!' ?
