Disney in Eorzea

Greetings, I wanted to make a post about references to Walt Disney movies and culture in FFXIV. I love to find these things in game, so to the disney experts playing, i would like to hear any possible references you may have found. These are some I've noticed. Please note that these are probable, with evidence that inclines the mind to belief but leaves some room for doubt.


The Magic Broom minion description says, "For safety reasons, do not fall asleep while it is at work." Reference to Fantasia.

Akh Afah Amphitheatre (Extreme) Achievement entitled "Let It Go". Cleverly timed Shiva fight and Dreams of Ice patch with the recent popularity of Frozen.

Hidden Snowman in Akh Afah Amphitheatre. Olaf reference?

Final Coil Turn 2 arena, Hidden Mickeys on platform. Hidden Mickeys are the mickey mouse silouette (circle head and ears), hidden in plain sight all throughout WDW.

Maleficent Mogstaff. The infamous antagonist from Sleeping Beauty. The word itself is a combination of magnificent and malevolent. Reference to the wicked fairy godmother because it's a THM/BLM staff.

Thornmarch trial battle theme. It's very similar to "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas. It has the same style and cadence, but with it's own twist.

Sastaha HM Kraken's attack "Stranger Tides". Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Sastasha HM is full of Pirates of the Caribbean references, like for instance Kraken's attacks.-Geraru Fanfare, Ragnarok

Specialist action entitled "Whistle while you work". A song from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. First in the Disney animated canon.




P.S. to Fernehalwes. Escape reality ,live the fantasy.. more disney please!

Glad I'm not the only one who heard "This is Halloween" in the Thornmarch theme. I appreciate how SE puts so many references to other things in this game.

A lot of their music and visuals have that Disney tone to it and you're definitely not the only one that heard that in the thornmarch theme. On his first time playing this game my brother asked if Disney had a hand in producing it.

It makes sense to add a nod and a wink to pop culture icons, especially ones that they partner with (PLEASE MAKE THE KH3 CROSSOVER! PLEEEEEEEEASE!)

I think these two are too much of a stretch.
And "maleficent" is just a word rather than a portmanteau.

But you gotta agreed that Frozen and patch 2.4, is oveer to much for not think ortherwise, even worse now tat ChiiSo showed that reference of Olaf xD

Also you gotta admit even if that wasn't a hidden Mickey, they'd probably say it is if asked. Way to close to just not say it wasn't.
