True, up until you try to sell things in the MBHonestly? I find the crafting/gathering community to be a lot nicer than the combat community. Because crafting/gathering is all solo content, no one is robbing anyone else of anything, and everything is generally chill.
Hell, I was helping an FC mate work on gearing their Culinarian. She had a Lv40 off-hand. I was like "Hold on, you can't craft Sauteed Coeurl with that." and I crafted her, with my own mats, a Militia Culinary Knife.
If I were rich enough to help random players like that with crafting/gathering by supplying them with gear, I absolutely would! Unfortunately, I'm not. T_T
However, I never once charge someone if they need something made and provide the necessary materials unless they want me to make more than 10 of a single item and I can't quick synth or it has to be HQ.
I encounter bad apples too. What should we choose to focus on? What should we choose to remember? It was just an ice bucket challenge moment for me. It made me see things more clearly. I am going to choose to focus on the good. I am going to make sure I celebrate everything good I see. i am going o choose to care about the other people I group with and expect nothing in return. I want an even better community and I am going to do whatever I can to be a reason. i wil start by being an example of what I hope for. It is easy to get caught up in the negative and want to blame others for your experiences. I am going to stop complaining, I am going to own my attitude and my experience. I am going on a crusade to help other people. Real life is tough enough, my time out in fantasyland is going to be better.
The forum and the game itself are like different worlds. Forum is nothing but complaining, pessimism, and arguments. In game, everyone is friendly, seems to be enjoying themselves, and I've rarely encountered any negativity at all.
Some times people are fist hostile for no reason hostile I just don't bother remembering the situations or people IV had problems with not worth it in the long run.
Glad to hear there's nice people like this out there.
Had a situation like this in 1.0 had no idea where the exit from Limsa was shouted for help guy took me to the exit and gave me 2 silver rings keep in mind this was the early days of 1.0 where it took a lot to make 1 item. Still have them even thou their dated. Its a nice reminder.
Actually the forums have improved vastly from 1.0 and the year after ARR launch. I used to come here and run away again. Now I'm finding people are generally rather reasonable.
Couldn't agree with this statement enough!
