Is there some unspoken rule to not use Esuna/Leech?

I doubt that scenario happens too often and unless you're new to a trial, knowingly using berserk when you know the adds phase is near is just a bad move.

In the end, most healers priority is healing tanks> then other dps > pacification. And by the time healers are done casting a cure/physick there's really no reason cast esuna on a tank with pacification.

Maybe you could also consider putting off using beserk if it will result in you not being able to grab important adds? It's 5 seconds!

There are times when the extra DPS from the tanks is beneficial for phase pushing and some of those phases are directly followed by adds spawning, a well timed leeches / esuna on your WAR will keep the momentum going and make the run go much, much smoother.
