The biggest question for the use of Esuna for me is simply "Am I needed to be doing something else more important"? Clearing ailments is important but if the party's almost dead or the tank's taking a lot of damage you can bet they're going to be my first priority. This is especially true with Warrior's Pacification from Berserk - sorry, but the penalty of me not cleansing is you not being able to attack for 2-3 more seconds (reaction/cast/application times in combo mean we're not close to preventing the whole 5 seconds in ideal situations) and unless there are literally adds spawning right now you should have established enough aggro with Berserk running that you'll be fine. If I can, you'll get it, but that's an if.
(I say this as someone who both heals and plays Warrior. I don't expect others to take care of my Pacification. It's a bonus if they can, not an obligation they are under - and it's better I know the fights well enough to not be pacified while adds are appearing to begin with)

Tangential, I think a lot don't know this, but in Thousand Maws fighting the first and second boss, cleanseing the Poison on the tank is actually worthless. The boss' AI checks if poison is on its current target to see if it should use its poison AoE or just attack normally, so it's utterly pointless to remove it off the tank because it will immediately get reapplied. (Slows from the adds don't seem to follow the same logic but it's hard to tell and harder to have a slowed target maintain aggro anyway so uh)

Don't worry, I do the same if I'm not 100% sure about the particular debuff or confused it with another

Yeah I noticed an underuse of Esuna and Leeches everywhere. I mostly don't care and its just a reason to NOT COMMI but what drives me crazy if you tell the healers to Esuna "Bemoogled" in Mog EX and they call you crazy and don't believe you and just hope to outgear the AOE that comes due to no Esuna.... many healer loose all my respect there >.>

    2. Keep the dps who is at 10% life up.
    3. Avoid one shot AOE.
    4. Get rid of your non-lethal status debuff

You better believe that your debuff is not going to be dispelled until the very end, if at all....
^ This X1000 Asking me to remove your debuff RIGHT NOAH!!!11 is 9 times out of ten the same as asking me to let someone die so I can debuff you. So no. Some of you tanks and dps don't realize just how insanely fast your hp drops sometimes and asking me to do anything other than what is needed to just keep you alive is asinine. Maybe when people learn not to stand in fire and ALWAYS have the same tired excuses of lag, slow internet, my cat jumped on my keyboard ect...as to why they didnt move in time so now i have to throw everything i have at them to keep them up..maybe then ill have time to leeche.

There was a time when I play my healing job diligently. As SCH, keeping adlo/succor up and leeching bad status as fast as I can. However, there are many cases where instance ended and I didn't get any commendation for it, really zero of it. Not that I care for commendation that much, but that slowly makes my motivation even worse. Most of this usually happens when I'm in a not-so-good party.

Nowadays, if I joined instance and saw party just doing so-so (or terribly bad), then I play just so-so either. Don't care if they wanna boot me later, in fact... it's a blessing for me since I can re-queue and get a better party, even if I have to redo from start.

So I guess, there's one of reason I have when I play healer. But I always give my best if I'm in pre-made parties with LS/FC member or happen to join random df and met fellow mates. At least I know friends do care and support each others.

'depends of how many people is afflicted, with why, and if there isn't a better thing to do. For example, against Gilgamesh & Enkidu, I won't bother to remove the slow on tanks unless it's the very last one bad status and everyone is full-life.

And yeah, sometimes, depending of the bad status, it is not worth wasting mana to remove it if there's only a few seconds left. And if I had better things to do until it gets to that point... well, sorry 'bout that, but I had other diapers to change. ^^"

Most skills which inflict a status effect are low damage hits. The few that aren't are heavily telegraphed and are intended to be avoided, stunned or silenced. Obviously, you play things by ear and adjust your tactics to the situation. Heals should always take first priority, but I'm not dropping Cleric's just for a weak poison or paralysis if the tank doesn't actually need any heals.

Sorry, but if you're ever in that situation then the Tank has already messed up. Firstly by not timing their berserk better, and secondly by not using Flash.

Besides which, if your team is weak enough to be wiped in 5 seconds of aggro you have far greater problems than pacify.

you should remove paralysis first from the casters (especially the healers) because it can interrupt the casts over and over again. annoying for the physiscal classes too, but worse on casters. and the weight debuff first from meeles, because they have to move around the boss for attacking from different positions.

i don't diespell debuffs that only lasts 3 seconds or less, because it's useless xD

one big problem are the huge amount of different debuffs with the same symbol.

I do main a healer and I try to remove status effects as soon as possible, especially from tank and casters but I have one question: why not carry some emergency potions, especially in raids?

I always carry: Antidotes, Spine Potions and Echo Potions. While they have a cool down, when I see the healer is busy, I can get myself out of a status effect. And you know the great thing? You can use them on other people too!

So stop shaming healers, take care of yourself a bit too, the potions don't exist as decoration.

I am quick to remove status ailments, especially a WAR's Pacify.

Only time I don't is if an ailment is constantly applied, such as Poison. I can Regen through it. I DO focus getting rid of Paralysis, though.
