Free Trial on PS3 to Full Account, Not Working : (

Hello,

My wife has been playing the free trial version on the PS3 and her trial has expired. So we ran to the store and picked up a hard copy of FFXIV for the PS3. Long story short, we can not find how to activate her account. no matter what we do the play station store does not accept the key we have in the box and it looks like there is no way for us to upgrade to the PS3 version in the mog station.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated. We are kinda at our wits end.

As far as my most recent chat with FFXIV support went they said this:

Agent Adam: Right, this is an issue that has been going on for almost 2 weeks. The PSN is not allowing new copies of the game to be registered, if there was already a copy on the account.
Agent Adam: We are looking into this issue, but as of now, there is no information about it.
You: Oh, it is an issue with others not just me ??
Agent Adam: Yes, anyone that has had the PS3 game or free trial on the account, are unable to register the game.
Agent Adam: So far as I understand it, this seems to be something in the PSN that is causing an error, but I cannot say for sure if that is the cause.
Agent Adam: If there is any information, it will get posted on the Lodestone.

I am currently pestering playstation to see what they can do to fix this issue since they said it is an issue with their side but we will see where it goes.

I had a similiar issue with the psn and a different game. I have a plus account and had gotten a game for free from plus (space marine). then during one of there sales they had a huge discount for the ultimate edition which basically gave me all the add on content with the game for less then if i purchased add ons seperately so i bought this. when my plus account renewed it messed up the game and refused to let me play because it said the plus version had expired. How they had to fix this for me was the playstation support went into my account history and deleted both purchases of the game and then added funds to my psn wallet to repurchase the ultimate edition. From the sounds of it this is what they will have to do with the trial version you got. the trial version was a digital version and is being incompatible with the hard copy edition. Just delete the version you have on the console itself and have them delete the trial edition and then install the hard copy version. the game saves will transfer over and if they don't the only thing you would lose is hotbar set up and gear sets which you can restore manually.
