Chocobo gaining no exp

Chocobos have same level as you do, to gain BLUE exp (chocobo's ranking).. the difference gap between your & your chocobo levels should not exceed 10 levels (it was to be 5 levels few patches ago).

Karakuls are Lv.36, so you can gain Blue Exp only if you level up the chocobo when you're in a class/job which is no more than Lv.46 (Lv.36+10). If you want to farm mats while gaining Blue exp for your choco, you need to kill mobs with at least Lv.40 if not Lv.41.

Other than that, the only way to gain Blue exp with lower level mobs is joining FATEs, because your Level will be synced (along with chocobo's).

Once you hit Chocobo rank 10, you won't gain any blue exp untill you feed it a Thavnarian Onion which increases the Rank cap +1 up to Rank 20.

note: Rank isn't the same as Level.
