I really wanted Haurchefant and Ysayle to join the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

Or maybe I'd just rather follow either of their leads than Minfilia.

I don't even dislike Minfilia as a character, really, in the game she's just framed kind of....poorly. Maybe that can be remedied if/when she returns to the scene.

I wish the WoL would create his/her own Scions. I think its about time the player character becomes the leader of a group, like in main FF games.

Yes! A million times yes! Rather than having leaders that are worthless and do nothing, we could be leaders that actually DO STUFF.

Some people have tossed around the idea that the MIA Scions could be the WoD's companions. Just saying.

Maybe it's because you don't have an annoying personality, a poor upper class English accent, or you don't use the words "mayhap" and "pray tell" every other sentence?

Just my opinion, but the Scions need to go away forever. I felt more sadness when Blank was turned into stone on IX than I did at the end of 2.0, and I'd only known him five minutes.

    Yeah, but that Thancred, though.

The reason why you don't feel like a Scion of the Seventh Dawn is because you're not. The Warrior of Light, aside from Grand Company affiliation, belongs to no one. However, pretty much every organization in the game swings you around like a weapon to smash whatever threat has appeared at the time.

As a matter of fact, this mutual, but abusive, relationship with the games organizations is actually covered in the Dark Knight quest. You actually learn that your character might possibly be harboring animosity towards the people who are constantly abusing your status as the Warrior of Light.

When your Darkside reveals itself, it's because it has become angered that the people of Eorzea keep pulling you in different directions to solve whatever problems they have at the time. Which, if you think about it, actually shows that your Darkside has more love for you than anyone else. This must be why it's called "Esteem" when you fight it.

    Whelp here we go again

OK , we're back here again. Another scion has shown up, Thancred. Once again was naked and some how produced a new set of goggles in a cave with a box of scraps. WTF. Can we please get our own set of goggles this is just getting ridiculous. Another story update came and went and still no goggles.

Before anyone brings it up, I know about the sets that are for sale with goggles. Seriously considering shelling out for some, but it's not the same as these thankless group presenting us with our own set in story.

Yeah. Let us be leader. Then we can have quest where we read through piles of reports, listen to boring partitioners, listen to complaints from other groups which just happen to have to much influence for you to just tell them to bugger off, organise basic logistics, interview and rent agents like those scholars from 2.55, arrange bodyguards for them, read through their reports too, allocate resources, monitor all staff to insure they are all ok and working productively, review the budget....

You know there is a lot of work to leadership of a organisation that is really boring. We get to leap into the thick of the action. We get freedom to wonder around and pursue our own goals. Leaders don't. They have to be in constant contact, running everything and making sure everyone is working together well.

Perhaps the difference from most FF games is when the character in those FF games is leading, its usually a small band of heroes. Leading a organisation like the scions is a very different kettle of fish. I'm happy leaving all that other work to someone else so I can go fishing or helping some random sky pirate loot treasure.
