I thought posting here might be the best idea since character creation is restricted on Cerberus.

I just came back from a long break and I am currently located on Tonberry. However, the lag has gotten unbearable on Tonberry and I no longer feel like I can raid effectively here. So I've started looking around to find a good EU English Speaking server, where I hopefully won't lag anymore.

I just want to ask about the state of the server. I've found several posts that led me to Cerberus. How is the general skill of the population?

Tonberry seems to have a pretty good skill across the server, however, one thing that I don't like about Tonberry, besides the lag, is half (or more) of the server is Japanese and they usually tag most of their open groups as JP-only. So basically the server has segregated itself.

How would you rate Cerberus as a community? Would it be worth transferring to ?

Cerberus is as a server is a pretty mix between casual players and raiders. It is a really friendly server though with quite a few good groups around, I think we had our 5th group clear Savage Coil this week and a large amount of the player base have cleared T13.

If I may ask how far have you progressed so far? I have an FC that is recruiting although a lot of us work or are in education so we aren't very active weekday day times, but we have quite a few on every evening and weekends.

I have not progressed as far as I would have liked. My original server, behemoth, seemed to have a rough time with progression unless you were in a select few FC/LS's. I've done T1-4, but never completed T5. With the lag on Tonberry and leaving that game for a time, I've not done any of 2nd or Final Coil. Main Scenario wise, I'm coming up to unlocking Shiva. I'm working on my atma books to upgrade to my Animus for my Whm.

So I'm behind the progression curve, but I would love to experience more progression and I do enjoy the raiding atmosphere.

Ah I see, well to be honest you are a considerable distance behind the core FC members, the large majority are BiS on their mains, have cleared T13 and are just killing time until 3.0

That being said now is a really good time to play catch up, and with only one team currently raiding there are plenty of members around to help. We will be deciding on static positions closer to 3.0 once we have had a chance to gauge the skill levels of our new recruits so that we can group players of similar skill levels. Claire hit the point that we have on Cerberus a good mix of all kinds of players from hardcore to very casual and also from all ends of the world
If you rather look for a FC that is active everyday and is rather casual (some of us pure gatherers or crafters) feel free to contact me. We are a social Fc with Fc raids atm helping our members to progress BcoB and ScoB to get into FcoB (only a few of us progressed that far but we try to help each other as far as we can) with two weekly raiddays and help with the story progression to be ready for Heavensward.
At times we also just log in to hang about and chat
We have absolutely no restrictions on ilvl, raidprogression and weekly logins.

I've finished my move over to Cerberus. I checked for both of you to see if either of you were online, but neither of you seemed to be around.. granted its 1am atm, so maybe thats a bit late for you.
