Unlocking Dark Knight?

I'm sure this has been asked a billion and a half times but I haven't found anything from the devs on it yet, maybe I missed it. So we all know there is no base requirement for the new jobs and since they're jobs and not classes means ten to one you can't just create a new one and start at level thirty. My question is will you be able to pick up the job once you hit level 30 or will you have to level to 50 finish all of the main story quests up to 2.55 get into ishgard and then hunt down the trainers to become one getting knocked back down to 60?

If its the latter that's a pretty harsh requirement having to effectively level 80 or more times start to finish (50 to get to Ishgard plus job requirements and then another 30 to max once you get to the job) I'm really hoping they clarify how it's going to work so I know what I'm in for.

Probably the latter, guild will be in ishgard which will require 2.55 story completion to access.

Being that the three new jobs are in Ishgard, and in order to get to Ishgard you have to beat the story up to 2.55, yes you will not be getting the new jobs till you have atleast one job at level 50 already. As well 30 is a good point, giving you many skills to start out with as well as giving you a reason to keeping doing some of the older content (just using the low level rol will insure players new and old are still playing pre-30 dungeons together).

If that's the case I hope they add something later for people who are leveling new characters who want to be one of those new jobs. Kinda sucks to have to spend fifty levels as another job till they get where they can play the one they want

Dont think they would do this, because of the storyline.
It make no sense to enter Ishgard before the bridge is open.
And for people who starting the game and level a class its good not to start at level 30.
Maybe they will replace the Jobnpc´s sometimes if they have nothing to do with the storyline, so people can become one of the classes, after they level one another class to 30.

Newbie's leveling characters have enough classes/jobs to get used to that only those who only want to play the new jobs would be really complaining. Vets who like to make alts are already aware, or should be aware, of the requirements and should be leveling them right now if they really care that much about it.

I'm fine with not being you make a character and have a new 30 but it'd be nice to level to 30 and then start your job instead of having to hit 50 and get into ishgard to be what you want, but I'm speaking from the weird position of leveling individual characters for specific classes instead of doing everything on one. I want my warrior to stay a warrior, I made a new character to be a dark Knight looks like I'm in for the one haul

I'm not a vet I've been playing for a bit but I haven't seen anything saying for sure one way or another which is why I asked but I'm leveling an alt in preparation for the worst.

I took it when they said, "no base class" that the requirements for the job would be gladiator or muraduer to 30 first. Have they clarified that as untrue and I missed it? If so can I get a link?

Truth be told, while I'll be able to access it, I'm still on fond of having to finish all the story content through 2.55 to get access to any of the content from Heavensward. For new players it means a HUGE grind to get to the content, (346 mandatory quests, in between grinding to level up to do those quests, and long duty waits for anyone who plays DPS). Honestly, having started the game just three months ago, I'm only going to finish the story a couple of weeks before Heavensward releases because of the fact that I play nearly every day. Sure, I'd be done sooner if I SOLELY focused on doing the story, but with as much content as is present in the game, it's easy to get side tracked by crafting classes or re-running dungeons with friends. For anyone just starting now, or thinking about getting the game because some of the new content is appealing to them, then that is quite a long ways away before they can access any of it.....
