    Idea: Each Parry would deal Auto damage.

    Hi all \o just a idea but I always thought Parry was a ok stat. Yes it's random but isn't so many other things in this game?

    Anyway my idea is what each time a attack is Parried you would deal just normal damage same amount of your Auto attack to said enemy who caused the parry.
    You always hear about people telling PLD to stack in DET mainly for DPS output but the DET is horrible scaled as I believe? So making Parry deal damage as it happens will keep those who think PLD should do more damage and those who think PLD should midgate more.

    Thoughts?

    Alone it's still not enough imo.

    It would be nice if it had a stacking effect with Sword Oath, but then again, you're probably not going to be in Sword Oath while taking incoming damage. So..

    Would need CDs and Job Traits built around Parry -- a tank class specifically designed to use and benefit from it -- to make it really significant.

    Samurai tank job, maybe someday?

    DET scaling terribly? As far as secondaries go it's the best there is.

    I play war over pld, but even without the whole shield block thing, parry is pretty underwhelming. I would love to see it boosted somehow. Seems sad that it's the only defensive secondary stat and it's just completely undesirable by tanks. Be they pld, war, and yes, even drk. Most tanks will choose skill speed over parry, it's just that bleh.

    Ways to fix Parry:

    1.) Change it completely, make it a +def/mdef stat instead.
    2.) Give it a cap where you can reach 100% Parry rate, and every point beyond that goes to +def/mdef.
    3.) Remove Parry as a secondary stat and just tack it on gear, like accuracy on WHM gear.

    Parry's biggest downfall is that it's RNG, and the stat on gear itself only increases the chance that that RNG may happen. Yeah, it's mitigation, but it's unpredictable mitigation in a game where only tank busters really matter for mitigation purposes. Block is great because PLD has it by default, but Parry isn't in the same boat. They could make tank busters into multiple hits, but that still involves you pressing the same CD, your healers pressing the same healing spells, and they will end up overhealing you extremely if you are lucky on those hits.

    Parry is just in an unfortunate situation that either needs to be completely overhauled or just tacked onto gear away from taking up a secondary stat spot.

    Parry needs to be in addition to the secondaries or they need to come up with a true tank secondary and parry just comes along with it. Even fixing (or adding mass amounts) Def/MDef would help.

    Could have each mitigation type additionally function around a hidden, regenerating eHP pool that is tapped into to guarantee that the closest mitigation type goes off (unless its pool is depleted) when you would take damage damage that would reduce you into the critical percentile (same range that causes LB growth - note that this mitigation will not prevent that said growth) at temporary cost of average mitigation chance.

    I do rather like what Sword Oath could do for parry damage in your idea though, if it were to do an actual AA (instead of just a portion of / equivalent AA damage), especially if parry chance could scale higher.

    I'm just hoping Parry stacks much better in HW than it did in ARR otherwise its the good old acc till cap > str > sks till cap > det/crit

    Too OP. I'd say a max of 50%, maybe even 40% since it would defeat the purpose of having cooldowns. I would like to parry magic though.

    They should just put parry on gear for free like they do with healer acc. It's to much of a junk stat to actively gear for, dilutes our gear option because 9f a 5th sub stat no one wants anyway. Just tack it in for free in tank gear so we can gear like every other class and maybe even have a reason to wear vit accs when they come with bonus parry since they suck now anyway.

    This would be a pain when you need NOT to kill the enemy (say, to use some quest item on them) and then you accidentally "parry" some attack.
