So, I've installed HS early access on my ps4 (I'm an EU player) and I have this problem, what to do?
Yeah I got "Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward (Add-On)" automatically downloaded on my PS4 yesterday. Also an EU player.
When I started up today it installed, then the launcher ran a 'running for the first time' check for half an hour and I got the message same as you above. No amount of restarts helped, so I deleted the client and am currently reinstalling it.
That's got half an hour to go, I'll let you know how I get on, just venting here really. I get the feeling it's going to need a reinstall w/o the Heavensward Add-On to work again correctly.
It does need that, unfortunately.
Not only that, but my PS4 automatically re-downloaded and updated the client to Heavensward while I was playing FFXIV last night, so now I can't log in again. Incredible.
Have had to delete again and re-download, making sure the download option for Heavensward isn't checked (I thought last time I could download it without it installing).
Thank the Twelve FFXI is free login atm!

I've had this same exact error since downloading Heavensward. Regretably, I do not have an internet connection that allows me to just casually download several GB of data. It takes me most of the day during which I can use the internet for little else. Until SE can do something on their end to fix this, I'd just rather play something else
Square is there any info on this. You have a bunch of ps4 players who cant play right now because of this "addon." Please respond.
They've said they're aware and are looking into it.
