I wish the voices were used more often. I tried to look for one that matched my characters's 1.0 voice, resembling a calm reserved woman,(voice 2 I think, the one that goes "mm-mmm!" On /cheer )

I remember the battle voices were toned down during beta to include lighter hits, I kinda wish they weren't, given that voices are limited to emotes and fighting. I doubt they'll add any more, but I do wish they added to it a little more for existing larger positive and negative emotions that are currently mute( /panic, /hurrah, /cry,/stagger, that "step foward and look miffed".) since our characters interactions are very limited as it is.

I check laugh, than pray combat yelps aren't bad. If they are, SE gets ten bucks. Lol

I very much appreciate anyone who makes videos of the various voices combat yelps, they are awesome citizens.

With all the choices though, it would make it harder for our characters to speak. You have 12 voices per gender per race, and each of those would have to be translated into 4-6 languages? Thats 6 * 2 * 12 * 6 = 864 lines of voiced dialogue per line of written dialogue, versus 6 for NPCs (just the 6 languages -- Japanese/English/French/German for main game and Chinese and Korean for the separate instances).

The current voices are actually the same regardless of language, right? Since they don't say any words? So its just 6 * 2 * 12 = 144 voices, but more importantly they are basically done once recorded once since there is no new dialogue. They'd have to have separate voice actors for each language if you spoke words.

The problem with checking Au Ra for combat voices is you have to sit through the long opening to try out the voices. I think combat voices should be heard in the creator since that is what you hear a lot.

I'm curious, anyone know who the voice actors for player character sound sets are?

SE people or the japanese voice actors who also speak for the NPCs or a mix of both.

    Nice combat voice.
    Nice emote voice.
Voice syncs with most emote animations.

    Pick 2.

I'm choosing any voice that doesn't make my ears bleed as a bard. +1 if it matches laugh animation and the laugh sounds insane. I really hope fem Au Ra voice 6 where she screams her head off for the angry emote doesn't have a combat voice like nails on a chalkboard.

All I can say is my Au Ra is getting voice 5 cause I laughed so hard at the angry emote. To me she sounded just like Louise from Bob's Burgers and I was like "YES! This is the one!!" lmao

Like most in here though I'm hoping it doesn't sound terrible in combat, but I probably would still keep it just for that angry emote sound >_>

I did this too. But the sad thing is, that the laugh in character creation is actually a /chuckle. I chose my character voice since it had nicest "laugh" and was pretty happy till I /laughed a year later...
