Does anyone else find healers DPS impact on group ironic?

It seems that in groups in this game the role that has the most impact on the groups overall DPS is the healers?

In 4 mans, 8 mans or 24 mans, the difference between "good" dps and amazing DPS is noticeable, but actually that huge of a difference.

The difference between a healers who DPS and the healers who don't makes the whole group feel different. Things start to die really fast and it's like "oh it's a healer who actually uses cleric stance"'

Then you get those Syrcus tower groups where Amon dies before Curtain call, you look at the raid after and see like 6-7 healers in cleric stance and it's like "oh, that's why."

Not that DPS doesn't make a difference, but it seems like if you really want to put a huge difference pace you should play a healer who actually knows how to DPS.

I just completed the Vishap fight, we failed about 4 times most of which I DPSed sparingly because the Paladin could barely hold hate, but we kept getting to like 5-10%.
On the final run, I went all out DPS and healed rarely leaving it to the other WHM. We completed it that run. Ironic I say, but an excuse to take a break from healing haha.

This is basically the case. A healer can put out some nice numbers, nothing like a real DPS, but still nice. The thing is though, this extra damage from having the healer DPS is greater than the gains in having a DPS go from ok to great.

It depends. Against a single target, even a mediocre DPS with a smaller weapon can do more damage than a healer. But for mobs, a healer can do more damage than some DPS, if the mob size isn't so large for the tank that the healer is locked into healing. WHM more so than SCH. But for mobs of 3-6, a SCH who DoTs > Bane > Shadowflare > Blizz2 spams can do some respectable damage.

We already know that scholars wipe the floor with white mages in ff right now. All this is going to cause is white mages to be benched/blacklisted in heavensward with astrologian replacing the white mage.

Whm is the superior DPS ^^.
It's simply situational like all things. WHM and SCH are perfect compliments to each other in every way and are both very valuable.
Besides, it's the player - not the job.

If you are ever in a dungeon with subpar DPS then you will notice yourself never being full MP ever and you will go OOM more often. A great DPS is very noticeable.

Well in Cleric, healers are no different than a DPS. If the situation allows for light healing then healer DPS does make a significant impact, as long as you aren't expecting heavy OMG damage anyway.
