When/Why were you vote kicked?

Was running the 1st level of Alexander the other day for my drop and the minute it cued three players who had apparently run together previously let into each other the minute thet saw each other's screen names. Chaos ensued, we wiped because of their bickering, I called them out in an attempt to organize everything so we could get the clear, got kicked before the second attempt.

By the gods I've never been so happy to be kicked. Totally dodged a bullet on that one before I wound up piling on a 3000 gil repair bill.

I was kicked once from Garuda EX when because someone didn't like having a SMN in the party because my Garuda-egi might "go out of control and kill spiny". I ended up getting back into the same group during the next pull, and about 30 seconds in, both the SCH and the WHM died. I raised both. Things were still pretty shaky after that-- we had a loldrg and a lolmnk that kept dying to tornadoes, and the SCH and WHM were not very good about getting into the spiny bubble either. At one point about 50% into Garuda's HP pool, I got 90k'd, and came back in about 2 minutes later. SCH was dead again, and the WHM had double rez sickness and no MP (and the only other DPS staying alive was a ninja so we couldn't get a Ballad up). I think I must've spent about 95% of the fight raising and healing instead of DPSing.


When we cleared and the casting ring dropped, I obviously rolled Need on it (since it was still a viable piece at the time). The SCH was evidently mad at me for coming back into the party and decided to not roll on the loot but just "happen to afk" for the amount of time it took for the chest to time out.

I got vote kicked for the first time about a week ago in Tam-Tara while running a low level roulette on WHM. It was after the first miniboss, where I had ripped hate on one of the imps at one point because I was dpsing but otherwise everything was going smoothly. Loot was one of the plundered items, which I greed rolled for and didn't get. Then everyone stood there for a moment and... I wasn't in the dungeon anymore. No party chat, nothing. I'm still at a loss.

While I haven't been kicked yet, thank gods since I've only been playing for a month, I've experienced ppl leaving cuz of me. More specific it was during my first ever run of the vault final boss, I told them it was my first time here yet nodoby would tell me tact. First attempt and we wiped, everyone took constant damage and I ran out of MP trying to heal. I asked if anyone would explain tact and they politely did. 2nd try and same deal. Admittedly I kinda messed up on the chains. One DPS went on to rudely call me out on it and left group. Tank just went offline or afk while dead at that point, we waited a while before replacing him since he never said a word. I felt bad at that point cuz i wasnt happy about running out of mp and felt it was my fault. The remaining DPS kindly told me he would stay and help me through. New tank and DPS joined, we oneshot it and I never once had less than 70% MP. I suspect that maybe I was voted out but it didn't go through

You did everything that could be expected in the situation, at least one person in group recognized that. Try to never let the poor attitude of the jerk population (which is significantly smaller group of the player base) dissuade you from enjoying the game.

That boss is hard on healers, even experienced ones. But he basically relies on blinding your screen with Alter Pyre >_>.

When you're tethered, you need to run in the opposite direction. This can also be part of a nasty combo he likes to use where he'll summon horses + ground AOE + alter pyre(the unavoidable AOE attack) + tether. Alter Pyre is going to make seeing the chain hard to see with all those retarded effects. Usually not knowing you're chained til it's too late, OR because gap in horses is really tight AND ground AOEs "closing" the gap so to speak.

If you did not get kicked because you fit in the few categories that are listed then please contact a GM. This is something that seems to be getting worse. Unless the GM's are told nothing will change. I have reported being kicked and talked to a GM who said they would take action.

Seconded. FFXIV's elitist population is vastly outnumbered by decent, patient players. The elitists don't realize how outnumbered they are because they're self-centered twits who can't see past their issues. Screw 'em, they're miserable gits beneath their bluster. If it takes max performance at a game in order to feel like a useful member of society, how awful must one's life truly be?

I finally got kicked out of a grp on my NIN, I was doing low level Roullete it was Manor NM and the tank wanted to keep making large pulls but would only use his AOE once and not even try to keep agro on the mobs, he was treating the class (DRK) as a dps, he was also the only one there for exp so he pulled every side room. after a while of nearly dying to every pull, I stopped attack groups that didn't need to die to get to the next boss. So I would just stand there since me even using one rotation of my combos meant I would nearly die. so I got vote kicked. Meh, I have no problem helping people out on exp but if they won't even make an attempt to do their roles then why should I make an attempt to help them?
