When/Why were you vote kicked?

It happened, I got kicked.. oh well.

I was in Ifrit NM for my roulette. The tank DCs so we all wait because it happens. He then pulls with Provoke and just stands there, auto-attacking. Doesn't move from the beginning area. Healer just stands there too, getting hit with all attacks.

Needless to say I pull aggro and end up tanking. We didn't clear the nail in time and wipe. I ask him if he knows what to do (nothing else leveled, barely synced, maybe he really didn't know? I've seen it happen) but he just ignores me and is very rude. We kick him.

He comes back obviously, because tank insta-queue. We wait for him to pull because, maybe he's having a bad day. Whatever. He just stands there. After about five minutes, we kick him again because he won't pull. Comes back again, of course.

He then starts a votekick to kick the other DPS, which goes through (????) At this point I guessed the healer and tank were partied together, which just makes me wonder why you would let your friend troll....the healer didn't seem that troll-y. At this point I have party leader status and I ask him if he's going to continue to troll before I start looking for a new player. He doesn't ever give me a direct answer. Fine, I wait a while then look for a new DPS (why didn't I leave? I was hoping to get my daily roulette bonus since I wasn't feeling well enough for a full dungeon. Oh well.)

Whatever, we get another DPS, same run as before. We wipe. I can't kick again because I already did, but of course as soon as we respawn I get the great message saying I've been dismissed from the duty... whatever.

I feel bad for that other DPS that joined. Wonder how the rest of the run went, actually.

I've only been kicked one time. Was just after t13 got put in df. Got a group with a bad composition and no one wanted to even attempt it (tried to convince them to do some pulls for fun while we waited on abandon timer, but no dice; they preferred standing there afk...).

So people got grumpy and stuff and were complaining about the vote abandon timer. I told em the vote kick timer was shorter so we could just kick a person and then all leave. One guy was like "I thought they had the same timer?" I told him the timers were different and after a few seconds he responds "Oh wow you're right!"

So I'm just sitting there stupidly thinking "how could he have tested that?" and to my shame didn't figure it out until I actually received the dismissed from party message. >.<

I have been kicked several times for varying reasons since 2.0 launch:
1. I have asked to be kicked because of a RL reason that requires my attention.
2. I have been kicked by the AFK timer for a RL reason.
3. I have been kicked because I play on PS4 without a keyboard and "say" very little when asked questions.
4. I have been kicked for poor play, while learning new class roles. (as you can see in my sig; I know most of them now).
5. I have been kicked for simply being new to the dungeon / trial / etc...
6. I have been kicked as tank for pulling too much and causing a wipe.
7. I have been kicked as healer for the tank pulling too much and causing a wipe, blaming the healer, When Benny was used, and 5 seconds later he lost another 12K life and I am spamming Cure II with Presence of Mind already burned.
8. I have been kicked as melee DPS because there too many already in the party.

My one and only time I got kicked was in Sastasha (normal mode)

Yep, the first dungeon you come across.
I was the tank, and two DPS-es who were an Arcanist and an Archer decided they would take it upon themselves to make an olympic sprint to the mobs and pull long before I could ever get there.
I complained that they needed to stop pulling. I didn't have a keyboard at the time, so by the time I finished the in-game keyboard message, they were already in the next room dead on the floor.

I complained again that they weren't listening to me, and I got kicked.



But I feel good about it. Since frankly no one searches as a single tank for sastasha normal mode, they probably had to vote abandon and quit the dungeon without their tank.

And with a complete lack of knowledge of who pulls, who heals, and who does damage, it's safe to say they won't finish the game either....

Only time I've ever been vote-kicked was as a Bard in WoD; just as we killed a boss, and another alliance said their tank had to brb, I set myself to follow a teammate as we ran to the next boss and said "brb 30 secs" to throw some food down for my kitty...came back maybe 45secs later, and just as I sat down, they kicked me, lol. I was so sad.

Only time I've ever been vote-kicked was as a Bard in WoD; just as we killed a boss, and another alliance said their tank had to brb, I set myself to follow a teammate as we ran to the next boss and said "brb 30 secs" to throw some food down for my kitty...came back maybe 45secs later, and just as I sat down, they kicked me, lol. I was so sad.

I spent this last weekend doing exactly that, only it's for a job that hasn't come out yet. I tanked Brayflox for the Calvary set to get it ready for DRK.

Yup, and there are so many other reasons why one could need an item. Glamour gearing, desynth, alt jobs, to spiritbind them, or even just for "fun".
On the other hand, I 'm wearing some i110 HQ pentameld, I could "need" every damn item in WoD and no one would guess I have them all already, in my retainer's inventory.

If you want to lock an item for yourself for whatever reason you like, it's better to ask at the very start of the instance. If you ask politely, there's no reason I will refuse. If I need it too, I'll try to discuss..
" Ok I pass on this, but if this Z item drops next, I'll take it, deal ?"
"Pretty please, need that i120 chest, mine is i45" --> of course I'll pass.

I disapprove votekicking regardless of the situation. The only times I'd votekick is when someone asks for it (for irl emergency), or when someone has been disconnected for at least 5 minutes, or has been extremely insulting toward everybody in the party.

I once got kicked out of a Darkhold run leveling ninja for, as far as I can tell, no reason at all. I said hi at the start of the dungeon, they said nothing to me the entire time i was in there and suddenly after the first boss I get booted. Yeah, I don't even know.

I was kicked from tanking an extreme primal fight. We wiped, I was asked if I spoke Japanese, to which I replied no sorry using auto-translate then they kicked me. I guess they wanted to talk tactics but the language barrier makes that too hard? I hadn't done that fight before and could well have caused the wipe, I'm not sure. In retrospect, it would have been wiser of me to do that fight for the first time with guild members to assure English will be understood and I can understand any direction given.

I got a votekick for watching cutscenes in Praeotrium in DF. I told everyone I wanted to watch, followed by groans and mean orders to skip and watch later. I politefully declined and said I wanna watch CS and that I'd be afk from my keyboard while I watch. I guess because they can't proceed past the elevator until I've finished watching, they dismissed me.
