When/Why were you vote kicked?

Yup, and there are so many other reasons why one could need an item. Glamour gearing, desynth, alt jobs, to spiritbind them, or even just for "fun".
On the other hand, I 'm wearing some i110 HQ pentameld, I could "need" every damn item in WoD and no one would guess I have them all already, in my retainer's inventory.

If you want to lock an item for yourself for whatever reason you like, it's better to ask at the very start of the instance. If you ask politely, there's no reason I will refuse. If I need it too, I'll try to discuss..
" Ok I pass on this, but if this Z item drops next, I'll take it, deal ?"
"Pretty please, need that i120 chest, mine is i45" --> of course I'll pass.

I disapprove votekicking regardless of the situation. The only times I'd votekick is when someone asks for it (for irl emergency), or when someone has been disconnected for at least 5 minutes, or has been extremely insulting toward everybody in the party.

I feel your pain with jp servers (same server).
Had a Toto-rak run once where we missed one of the magitek orb thingys, being the tank I went back to go get it and as we went further back I just got kicked all of a sudden.

I once got kicked out of a Darkhold run leveling ninja for, as far as I can tell, no reason at all. I said hi at the start of the dungeon, they said nothing to me the entire time i was in there and suddenly after the first boss I get booted. Yeah, I don't even know.

I was kicked from tanking an extreme primal fight. We wiped, I was asked if I spoke Japanese, to which I replied no sorry using auto-translate then they kicked me. I guess they wanted to talk tactics but the language barrier makes that too hard? I hadn't done that fight before and could well have caused the wipe, I'm not sure. In retrospect, it would have been wiser of me to do that fight for the first time with guild members to assure English will be understood and I can understand any direction given.

I got a votekick for watching cutscenes in Praeotrium in DF. I told everyone I wanted to watch, followed by groans and mean orders to skip and watch later. I politefully declined and said I wanna watch CS and that I'd be afk from my keyboard while I watch. I guess because they can't proceed past the elevator until I've finished watching, they dismissed me.

I wouldn't tell people that you are "afk" while cutscenes are playing. It makes it sound as though you are using the cutscene to go afk, meanwhile forcing everyone to wait on you. I'm not saying that was necessarily the case, but it could be perceived that way and result in a vote kick.

I'm not going to bother to reply in that sarcastic excuse for a thread, but let's try one more time before giving up here.

I'll take any game where you can sell gear you loot from a dungeon to a vendor as an example.

If someone in your group needed a piece of gear and you did not but could get 3-4g at a vendor to add to the 25000 you already have, would you still need it?

If you answered no, how is that any different than GC seals? The glamour argument I get, and if you are hunting for a certain set of gear for looks that is up to you, it would be nice if you passed it to someone who would wear it but no big deal, but GC seals are so damn easy to come by that all you are doing by needing that piece of gear is screwing someone over to make your life slightly, ever so slightly easier.

Your logic is pretty flawed. Sure...I'm a decent guy and if somebody says "Hey, I need X" and it's not something I'm actually after for a specific purpose I'll pass. Otherwise, if I can need on it then it's mine. I'm not going to waste my time examining people to try and figure out what they may need from the dungeon. I always have a "need" for the stuff that drops, be it turning in for seals, desynth or selling on my retainer.

At the end of the day I put in my time doing whatever it is that's being accomplished, be it a Primal, a Coil run or just a DF dungeon, I have just as much right to roll on anything that drops in there as anyone else and I'm not going to pitch a fit if somebody rolls need on something for their class or something that is able to be need rolled by anyone in the party.

the only time I think I been kick was in brayflox normal. because I said i was new to the group we did good until the last boss. I really got no clue what to do after of some run i was kick for not knowing the fight.

Adding on, just because it makes the individual's life easier by needing on an item for GC seals doesn't mean they have to do it. It's just like how practically almost everyone doesn't drop all their spare cash on luxuries they want (and don't need) on every single person in need.

Suck it up and move on. No need to justify and loathe over a something so trivial.

On a side note, I've also have never been vote kicked. I have vote-kicked others though. Each time I've done it was either they were severely under-performing and refused to cooperate and/or they were AFK without notice or reason. I've yet to meet a toxic person, but they would receive a boot from me if I had the chance.
