Well, I wish them good luck with that. There are plenty of mandatory FF bosses that will eat you for breakfast if you are not prepared. And usually the end dungeon is all but impossible unless you did most of the bonus content to buff yourself up.
What I think many forget is this is a Final Fantasy game. Just like a Star Wars game ( SWtOR ), there are many people who want to play it simply for what Final Fantasy is primarily known for: story. They could care less about BIS gear or slogging through mandatory dungeons just to unlock the next bit of story. It's just like the singleplayer FF rpgs. You'll have people who will grind out the xp to get 9,999 stats, hunt down and kill an Omega Weapon, etc.; and then there are people who just aren't good enough or motivated enough for all that, they simply do the bare minimum to eek through and enjoy the story.
Nah, buffing up for the final fight in past FF titles usually means being leveled up enough. Bonus or extra dungeons/content have things that no doubt help, but they aren't necessary to win.
Take my fav FF title, FF6-i know for a fact i skipped a ton of side quests and the like(heck i didn't even get Realm back first time through) and i didn't have any issue on the last boss after i was high enough level.
Usually, beating the optional / side dungouns makes the final dungouns a joke... If you can beat the Weapons of FFvii, you'll have no problem with sephi.Nah, buffing up for the final fight in past FF titles usually means being leveled up enough. The only game that broke this mold for me was Tales of Vesperia. If you did an optional quest, THEY GAVE THE FINAL BOSS AN EXTRA FORM THAT WAS EVEN HARDER...
Oh god I love that game.
At least one of the Star Ocean games did that too.Usually, beating the optional / side dungouns makes the final dungouns a joke... If you can beat the Weapons of FFvii, you'll have no problem with sephi.

Except they didn't really warn you and the quest was just a cryptic as hell Private Action in one of the towns.
The result was the hardest boss in the game that I only managed to beat because one of my weapons proc'd a death effect (which is extremely rare)
Yea. Looks like they're both basically in the same vein - some of the hardest fights in the game, triggered by doing optional content. In ToV, you got it by collecting all the weapons (which is something you had to purposely do - usually completing puzzles to get them. But a player might not understand the repurcussions until it's too late)At least one of the Star Ocean games did that too.

God I love these games. xD
Here I am, hoping the wil fix the screw up they did last patch with Chocobo Racing, your stamina runs out faster so you can't sprint all the way to the finish line....oh but they forgot to adjust the NPCs....they still can sprint 24/7.
Some nerf on the final 3 steps of relic quest would be apreciated too...
Well you either level grind or get the bonus stuff.Nah, buffing up for the final fight in past FF titles usually means being leveled up enough. Bonus or extra dungeons/content have things that no doubt help, but they aren't necessary to win.
