I was wondering if anyone had any idea how you get this shield?

This Shield doesnt exist. It was leftover data from 2.0 and was removed with 2.1 from the Eorzea Database. There is only one WHM shield above i75 and that is the Wave Buckler and the Tidal Wave Buckler.

If you look for items check the official Database. Datamining sites can only be so accurate but SE is doing a good job when it comes to keeping stuff up to date ^^

I think he is saying it was in the datafiles but not actually obtainable. Some people mine XIV's files for extra info on stuff. There's a lot to find there that's not necessarily in game.

It was most likely from the EX primal weekly quest. BLMs get the Ancient Buckler, which is the same ilvl as the Ancient Shield. It wouldn't have made sense since the Allagan Cane from T5 is a two-handed weapon. Most likely they changed it at the last minute.

No it wasn't, all the Weekly primal quest rewards are still ingame and the shields from that are the Onion Shield (PLD) and the Ancient Buckler (BLM). A WHM shield was never added for that, the reason remains to be unknown, both the WHM and the BLM weapon that could be obtained via the weekly were 2H...

The i90 ancient shield was a leftover data for an item which was supposed to drop in coil, but they dropped the idea and removed the data clutter in the 2.1 with so many other items that never were introduced

I think you missed his point, he was saying they gave BLM a shield because the weapon that dropped in Turn 5 was a one handed weapon. Both the EX primal quest weapon and Turn 5 weapon for WHM were 2 handed so there was no point to give them a shield at the time.

What i was saying: The Ancient Shield was in the mined 2.0 data and was removed in 2.1 (when the EX were added + weekly) --> So it wasn't left over data from the weekly. That i90 shield never made sense except way later when you paired it with the crafted moogle cane which was added with Desynth... I was looking for it a bit before 2.1 as well b/c it was the strongest WHM shield in 2.0 and my gimp whm alt wouldve really liked it, but it vanished from the database with 2.1 so i was like oookay - sch is more fun for me to play anyways ^^
